The bacteria have not caused her any problems for thousands of years but they seem to be a little overpowering at the moment. They are attacking all parts of the sky and ground. The bacteria are spreading faster than ever before and are out of control. But mums cool, she’s tough. Only been around 4.5 billion years. She’s has been sick plenty of times. Nothing a good wash will not fix.

This is not really my style of photography but nonetheless I still like this photo which I took last weekend.
Here on RB there are stunning coastal images with perfect long exposures and processing,,, well,, this isn’t really one of them but what it is, is my first ever long exposure. This morning my friend and I decided to shoot a sunrise on the Western Port Bay (Balnarring) so I packed my case & tripod and off we went at 5am. As soon as we got there, my cheap tripod broke in half so there goes my long exposures! But I ended up getting creative with positions..hmmmm.. Then, we waited.. and waited.. and no Sunrise! Just lots and lots of gray clouds and drizzle :o( But that aside I still tried to make the best of it and got this image with a 30second (200 ISO) exposure so please be kind! I promise I’ll do better next time…. After I invest in a good tripod!
Florence Oregon, USA. I apologize for the simplicity of this image…there is just something about it that I find appealing.
I am flying, at a velocity so fast that I must be approaching the speed of light! I see nothing but sky above. Below are strangely familiar mountains, rivers and valleys, all zipping past in a surrealistic blur. Where am I? Where am I going? Have I died? My destination suddenly becomes apparent, right there before my eyes. The farm that has been the reoccurring focus of my dreams… This photo is totally “as-is”, directly from the camera, with no post processing at all! It was shot using an old photographer’s technique, with a special “One-Touch” zoom lens. The farmhouse was framed and manually focused at 350mm. The lens was then set to the 35mm focal length, without any other adjustment changes. I fired the shutter with a remote release while immediately zooming back out to 350mm, while the shutter remained open. You are looking at the un-touched result. This photo was just taken on August 3rd, 2009. It was shot with a Canon EOS 10D using a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L zoom lens. The shutter speed was 1/10th sec. at f/16. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release cable. First Attempt Your comments are always welcome! I visited this area many times over the last 20 years to photograph this very scene, usually in the dark after twilight. I was there two nights ago and I couldn’t resist shooting it again as the sun set. I was also fortunate this time to have the lights from the two cars which passed by, one up and one down the hill, aligned so nicely. This is taken at “Ladies Lookout” atop Signal Hill, St John’s Newfoundland Canada. “Ladies Lookout” is so named because from this very point women would for generations walk there to look for signs of their men returning from the fishing grounds, the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. You can only imagine when Mother Nature unleashed the mighty North Atlantic the humility these people must have felt! The Hole of Horcum is a section of the valley of the Levisham Beck in the North York Moors of northern England, upstream of Levisham and Lockton. The Hole of Horcum is a vast, 400ft deep natural hollow measuring ¾ of a mile across. It has been naturally eroded over thousands of years by the action of springs, though a more romantic legend tells us that it was created when a giant named Wade, who was in fact a Saxon chief, grabbed a ‘handful’ of earth to throw at his wife, Bell – the soil missed its target and landed to form the 800ft high hill of Blakey Topping which lies about a mile to the east.
