A3 oil pastels on gum tape collage. / I used a digital image i made for reference which i made using photographs of sand, sky and a sculpture I made of the ball. / The ball represents a language. its made up of markings that communicate that language by leaving them like a trail as it evolves. sometimes crossing over the trails of another language and picking up some of those elements. Like French words used in the English language or vise versa. / I started with a sketch, created the image digitally with special permission to use local photographer extraordinare, Draqen then used the digital image as a reference for the series. / The Inscriptions Series: / - The whole dyptich:

Here’s a shot of a fantastic coloured sky from my back doorstep. The sky took on this amazing colour which lasted a few minutes before disappearing and turning into night. I was actually heading out but when i saw the sky like this, i went inside, grabbed my camera, snapped this shot and then headed out. There was something about it that really appealed to me when i got the image to the computer. Maybe you agree? thanks for looking Canon 400d + 18-55mm kit lens

I was searching for a historic covered bridge to photograph in august when I took a wrong turn in farm country. I saw this old shed and had to get a photo. I thought it was a small corn crib at first, but I was told that it could be a tobacco drying shed. Whatever it is, it looked very interesting to me. If anyone who knows the original purpose of this old structure, please let me know. I did eventually find the Buckhorn Cogan House covered bridge a few minutes later. Those pictures are displayed in my RedBubble portfolio. A Canon EOS 10D DSLR body, fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens was used. The lens was set to the 40mm focal length. The camera’s shutter speed was 1/180th sec at f/8. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. This photograph was taken “hand-held” and is “straight from the camera” with no processing or alterations.
