This was taken just after dawn on a very cold Winter morning. I usually do sunrises in the cold weather. I think the colder the weather is, the better the sunrise. This is Longnook Beach in the town of Truro, Massachusetts. On our last trip to Cape Cod in 2006 we stayed at a house about 5 minutes from this beach so I was able to get down there several times for photos. It’s hard to tell but the dune in this image must be at least 100 feet high and I believe it stretches the entire length of the beach. This was a dream morning to be shooting since a front was moving out of the area resulting in the wonderful clouds you see here. I’m hoping to get back to the Cape in the very near future to shoot here again. I did add two texture layers to enhance the dreamy quality of the photo. /

This is an image of hotels built into the cliffs in the small town of Sorrento on the Amalfi coast, Italy. An absolutely fabulous resort town, with a great view of the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius as well as the Isle of Capri.
