  • Morning Meditation Taken the day of the Autumn Solstice in 2005 at about 12,000 feet high at Lake Dillon in Colorado. It was cold, but dang, freezing my fingers was well worth it! —-—-—-—-—— / More of my work can be seen on my website at http://jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. • Welcome to morning light in Garden of the Gods Park, Colorado Springs, Colorado. This place is photography heaven, and no where else I have ever been has lighting like this place, it is utterly surreal…..

  • Single blossoming tree in spring.

  • taken early in the morning in the fresh clean air above Zermatt

  • As Autumn begins to give way to winter, the morning sky and light becomes more soft, as Mother Nature takes a turn and starts her winter hibernation. This sure was a different styled shot for me. I actually intended to get down to Washington Park and shoot the sunrise but instead was greeted with something that seemed otherworldly. The sun backlighting the clouds and the dampness in the air made for quite a surreal feeling, standing here in absolute solitude, not a sound, not even the Geese you see in the water made a sound…it was ominous. I figured I would try something really different for once and got out my tripod and put on my Minolta 28mm F2.8 lens for this shot ( I am LOVING that damned lens BTW, sharp as a tack!) and started firing off shots, then it hit me,—-why don’t I try a few long exposures, and well, this is the end result. 10 seconds. Personally I kinda like it, an odd impression it gives with the Geese in the water, reminds me of a painting, and surreal as well. Does it work?? I am not entirely sure, you be the judge. I would love to hear what ya all think of this shot. I have gone ahead and submitted it under the surreal category, a category I don’t think I have ever submitted to before…. Anyways, I would love some feedback on this! / Thanks all! / -John / -—-—-—-——- See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. • Chinchero, Perú ! After chatting a bit with a few women in Chinchero and having a good laugh,.. I asked if I could take some pictures of them.. they were all very keen and looked relaxed and confident..!!! This is the one I probably like more !!!

  • I was literally blown away when I finally visited Mount Rushmore for the first time last fall and saw it with my own eyes. A work of art from every scenic viewpoint, my humble photo hardly does it justice. Photo taken with Kodak EasyShare zoom digital camera.

  • Stairway in Lisbon, Portugal.

  • Captured on an early morning at Denver’s historic Washington Park. Standing here taking in the scene, was just amazing, sheer serenity….so utterly quiet I didn’t even hear the Goose swimming by. Amazing that in such a large city, nature thrives, never knowing that this peace is surrounded by so many people. And for once, the world just seemed like such a better place….. —-—-—-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. • Blossoming cherry tree in spring with blossoming field and deep blue sky.

  • Perhaps my favorite stretch of sand on Maui is this. Po’olenalena Beach is where I generally go to make images of hula dancers, and find quiet moments. Po’olenalena is “over the rocks” and so most tourists cannot find it. This image is layered from 5 exposures, creating a High Dynamic Range effect.

  • How could I resist the colours of the poppies on this landscape, so traditional with the farmhouse in the background. / Taken with a Nikon D80 / /

  • 7215 I tell ya, I wish I could honestly buy this place if it ever comes up for sale! Captured outside of Estes Park, Colorado, during my Autumn photoshoot, Longs Peak made for an incredible backdrop to the colorful Aspen and this old wooden cabin. Shot in very early morning light, the whole scene just seemed to glow…I had to stop and get quite a few shots off, as it just really caught my attention and seemed to echo the meaning of the words ‘relaxation’ quite well. / Hope ya all like it! / —-John Minolta 5D / Minolta 18-200 DT Lens / SIngh-Ray CPL / f8-iso 100- 24mm

  • Another shot of the awesome sunset that night on Maui, Hawaii…2007

  • A Sunrise Over Golden Captured overlooking Golden, Colorado from Lookout Mountain / I went ahead and set the scene up and was thinking “Oh ya, maybe I should try using my filters!” and wallah, this is the outcome! It was a cold morning to say the least, and once again my damn tripod was like a flagpole one licks when it is below freezing lol You have to love the feel of cold, icy steel on bare skin! It is so much fun! NOT! lol But I think it was pretty much worth it. Hope ya all like it! / John Minolta 5D / Minolta 18-70 DT Lens / Singh-RAY CPL / Cokin P002 / Dynatran Tripod / And a LOT of hot coffee! / Raw—Processed through LR, find output thru PS and PSP
