At Day’s End As the sun goes down over the front range mountains of Denver, Colorado, the Sunflowers turn, in anticipation of the sun coming back up in the morning. Photographed in a field where all you can see for miles and miles is Sunflowers….billions of Sunflowers. An entire sea of yellow and gold….caught in my lens for a fleeting instant, where the whole world was at peace…. FOR SALE here as “wild poppies” with all proceeds going to the “wildlife-appeal” to assist wildlife affected by the australian bushfires… Wild flowers are everywhere throughout the fields and on the roadsides in Turkey this May! As you can imagine I didn’t get far on my bike… / :) A first macro on a borrowed Nikon coolpix 4800 compact and the step up in quality from my usual Fuji Finepix A500 shows! (I was never able to give it back and came to an amicable arrangement…lol…) Taken on macro setting with selftimer and using a pocket sized 4” tripod.. Straight from the camera apart from slight cropping and a great reminder of the swathes of these beautiful flowers

I was extremely bored today and I wanted to do something creative so I found the bubbles and started blowing out in the backyard. It was a little windy today so it was a stupid idea but I couldn’t stop trying, I just wanted ONE ! bubble with some sort of reflection before it popped. It was a mess, dripping bubbles everywhere and dropping my camera around my wrist a hundred times and then POP…..too late ! but finally I got one I really liked ….it reminds me of a garden globe.

Its all in the title. This isn’t just an ordinary Church Spire. I am told its a copy of the Spire at St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. This is actually what I would consider the most prominant landmarks in Peebles. Peebles is a small Scottish Borders Town which lies about 20 miles south west of Edinburgh. Its possibly my most popular image to date out here in the real world. Made the Redbubble Home Page on the 29th of August 2008. Background Information: / Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6183 feet (1884 m). The lake has a surface area of 0.5 km². The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. However, when it is full, it is a beautiful shade of blue. The lake gets its color from the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis. The symbolism of this image is deep. Man against nature, his arrogance even when dwarfed by the age and strength of nature. / This was taken in Arches National Park at Delicate Arch in the Fall of 2005. There are many photographs of Delicate Arch and I didn’t want to duplicate what had already been done. With a man dressed in a black suit, he appears in a unique vision of the famed Delicate Arch stepping out from another time and place.

I kept returning to this spot, night after night, sometimes it was raining or misty and other nights were simply ideal though a tad chilly … This spectacular natural rock arch, sculpted by weathering and erosion from the sea over thousands of years is well worth visiting. Here you can also observe a colony of New Zealand Fur-seals as they feed, swim and laze on the shore platform below. If you cannot see them you can sure smell them ! For me summer holiday memories are all about bare feet, the sea, the smell of aerogard and barbeques, and long days and warm nights often spent in a caravan park by the ocean. This piece is about all of that, but I also wanted to infuse it with a bit of darkness and mystery …Holiday villages are so full of life and colourful characters by day, but at night when all have gone to bed and secured their temporary little homes, they can be quite strange and creepy…

One thing I learned a long time ago is when concentrating on an image, don’t forget to look behind you. I was busy photographing fishing boats at the opposite end of the beach and when I turned around I saw this beautiful light as a sudden rain squall approached. I, literally, snapped the image and then ran for cover as the rain pelted down.

I took this picture on the steepest island of the world…La Palma (canarian islands). Although it’s the steepest island of the world it’s very rare that it’s snowy on top of the biggest vulcanic mountain. / It was a lucky week so I drove all the way up to the “Roche De Los Muchachos”>>> / (3000 metres high). Shortly before I reached the top a little cave caught my attention. / I went inside and discovered beautiful, thick icicles. The energy there was incredible….it felt pure….above the clouds…elements. check what the product looks like here thank you for stopping by!

Couldn’t help uploading this shot… I usually stay away from picture postcard imagery, as there are many who do it better, however, I think this image has a certain quality to it that translates the beauty and substance of Venice. The light was amazing that morning.
