  • Captured out on the plains of Eastern Colorado at Sunset, they just went on for miles and miles….like a fantasy world of never ending Sunflowers..processed in HDR

  • I just love Rocky Mountain National Park, spose I always have and always will, though I have to admit that at times I wish we had more clouds in the skies here in Colorado, but I suppose the infamous blues make up for that. The Rockies here just seemed so alive…in that morning light.,...damn that air is fresh I tell ya folks! Anyways, thoughts welcomed, processed in HDR

  • I love photographing in bad weather, there is just something about the drama of it all that amazes me, and this was of no exception. Garden of the Gods outside of Colorado Springs is the location, a place which, is simply magical and unlike anywhere else on Earth…the light here is the best I have ever seen, and even when there is none, it still holds it own. Captured this past early spring, where at the higher elevations the clouds brought snow, but where I was at, it was rain. Processed in HDR with final output through PS. / Thoughts welcomed! —-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. • THIS COUPLE WERE WALKING ALONG THE WET SAND DURING A SUNSET ON TENBY BEACH WALES. TROUBLE WAS THE BACKGROUND WAS NOT SO GOOD. THE SUNSET IN THIS SHOT WAS ON ANOTHER BEACH WITH WET SAND. PERFECT. I DROPPED THE COUPLE FROM ONE BEACH TO ANOTHER. OK I CHEATED, I CAN NEVER BE A POLITICIAN NOW, I TOLD THE TRUTH ! ITS ALL A BIT OF FUN

  • Merimbula is on the east coast of Australia between Sydney and Melbourne.

  • He took my leg Murray’s Beach / Booderee National Park. NSW

  • Canon 350D lens 17-40 mm

  • If there is anywhere I love to shoot, then it has to be Garden Of The Gods Park outside of Colorado Springs. Recently the opportunity presented itself to photograph it in the fog and mist, weather we rarely get here in Colorado…..I jumped at the chance! HDR used along with The Orton Technique. / Thoughts welcomed! / —John

  • Up at 4 this morning to be able to get to this place before sunrise. What you see in this pic is a traditional Korean boat that dates back more than a few hundred years. A couple cokin filters thrown in for good measure! Hope it tickles you pink!

  • 3200 ISO is a brave new world for me. As a self confessed low ISO junkie, one who used Ektar 25 film whenever and wherever he could for many years because I wanted tight grain, the tighter the better, I would pull out all the stops I could to use that amazing ISO 25 film! For sure I’d never gone above ISO 1000 and then only to shoot indoor sporting events. Low ISO was(?) a hang-up for me! But I wanted to try astral photography and high ISO can get you there! However as we all know high ISO leads to increased noise which is something fairly new to me. You can use software and Photoshop plugins but I’ve been considering, one way to control noise would be to minimize or eliminate it by keeping the ISO as low as possible and that’s one way I‘m leaning. So in that regard it looks like a fast 50 prime is in order! It’s fun to be experimenting and learning, eh! Camera Model Canon EOS 50D / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 30 / Av( Aperture Value ) 3.5 / ISO Speed 3200 / Focal Length 18.0mm / Flash at 1/16 power and about 12 or 13 paper towels for diffusion. “One Night Under the Milky Way” was shot at Flamber Head on Newfoundland’s East Coast Trail For more information please visit Brian’s Homepage or on Flickr

  • Camera Model Canon EOS 50D / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/45 / Av( Aperture Value ) 8.0 / ISO Speed 100 / Focal Length 28.0mm Taken on August 30, 2009 as Tropical Storm Daniel passed through! For more information please visit Brian’s Homepage or on Flickr

  • Sunrise at Petty Harbour Newfoundland Canada. Straight from the camera! View On Black Camera Model Canon EOS 50D / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/350 / Av( Aperture Value ) 8.0 / ISO Speed 100 / Focal Length 150.0mm / HiTech ND Grad For more information please visit Brian’s Homepage or on Flickr

  • Taken in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA. Pretty much a tourist snapshot of the Falls, which I thought I would share with you ! / A rather crowded place, justifiably so, who wouldn’t want to see this sight ? The Canyon has some amazing colours, and I found the best time was towards evening to be viewed at it’s best. The vertiginous slopes are very loose and crumbly, and I wondered how those trees maintain their perilous foothold !! Shot on a Canon EOS 40D, polariser, tripod, f22, 1/3 sec, iso 100, auto wb, RAW file processed in PS CS3, levels/curves/selective colour adjustments. MORE OF YELLOWSTONE HERE…........

  • “Maddox Cove” was shot at Maddox Cove, Newfoundland Canada. For more information please visit Brian’s Homepage or on Flickr

  • The Russel Burn tumbles down from the mountains of Applecross, seen as you take the spectacular drive over the Bealach na Ba ( the Pass of the Cattle ) single track road. It is an old drover’s route, and rises to 2,053 feet, from where, on a clear day, you can see outstanding views of the Western Isles in all their glory. Mostly though, it will be so cold and windy that you will will not want to stay too long !! It is a very wild and remote area, so incredibly beautiful. Taken on a Canon EOS 40D, mounted on tripod, / canon 17-85mm IS lens at 17mm. Polariser fitted, ( to slow the shutter for more blur) / f23, three shot hdr (-2EV , +2EV and 0EV …..from a minus 1 stop underexposure reading 0f f23, 1/15 sec. on Aperture priority ) iso 100, Auto wb, RAW files converted in Photomatix and Adobe CS3. / Finished with a little Orton.
