A freak wave I caught while playing on the rocks at Bunbury’s Back Beach :)
This shot was taken outside of Fort Bragg, California.
A beautiful evening sky. The sea oats moving in the breeze with driftwood at its side. Another beautiful sunset in Destin, Florida. Late September; no crowds; just peace. / / Click on the buy/preview button to see the many RedBubble print options for this photo.
This is about as good as it gets at Kai Iwi – not too much wind, beautiful sunny day, a little bit of surf… / To see another perspective see Mike Emmett’s image here You can see this piece up close and personal at The Makeshift Gallery, Cnr of Brunswick and Leicester St, Fitzroy, Melbourne / Saturday and Sunday 12-5pm
Happy New Year everyone! This shot was taken at the Sunshine Coast just before Christmas 2007….well it’s an old shot isn’t it. Taken with my Canon 5D and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens. No Filter has been used but I did some fake HDR processing (single shot) using Dynamic Photo HDR. It’s a fun program and a great alternative to Photomatix.

A photo I took yesterday at the East Ballina wall with a liiiitle bit of help from photoshop. I don’t know what’s happening to me! I’m usually such a pen and paper girl but can’t seem to get enough of “digitally re-mastering” my amateur photos.

Taken at Apollo Bay early in the morning. I haven’t processed this one very much at all. A bit of noise reduction and some levels. It was the most amazingly vivid sunrise I have seen for some time. View more of my seascapes at: Landscapes and Seascapes

Here’s my oldest boy paddling out just like me to watch the sunset after a very hot summer’s day. And yes, here I’m also in the water after him with the camera! / It’s similar to ‘My sunset’ but I wanted to share this one also :o) Nikon D200 / 18-200mm lens / processed in RAW with only the contrast and colour slightly upped, the rest is all real! No photoshop as I have already been asked.
I went to the beach today. It was hot. I got sun burnt and took this. Mererwether Beach ISO200 / f5.6 / 13sec exposure / lots of sun. I have now discovered that the Canon450D will actually focus with the IR filter attached….imagine that! Comes in bloody handy!

But more wonderful than the lore of old men and the lore of books is the secret lore of ocean. Blue, green, gray, white or black; smooth, ruffled, or mountainous; that ocean is not silent. All my days have I watched it and listened to it, and I know it well. At first it told to me only the plain little tales of calm beaches and near ports, but with the years it grew more friendly and spoke of other things; of things more strange and more distant in space and time. Sometimes at twilight the gray vapors of the horizon have parted to grant me glimpses of the ways beyond; and sometimes at night the deep waters of the sea have grown clear and phosphorescent, to grant me glimpses of the ways beneath. And these glimpses have been as often of the ways that were and the ways that might be, as of the ways that are; for ocean is more ancient than the mountains, and freighted with the memories and the dreams of Time.
