I liked this image of my little girl as, to me it’s a simple and dreamy capture of childhood where it’s always happy, uncomplicated with bright colours, fluffy white clouds and sparkly light.
The dry and arid conditions of the Australian outback sees many of these dead testaments of the harsh conditions.
To me, this photo symbolizes the beautiful journey of a father and son through life.. Silhouettes are my favorite thing to capture, there is so much emotion without even seeing facial expressions.
This is the veiw at the end of the lane where the cottage I live in is… I know, I’m spoilt! What blessings I am given.
It’s gone from light to gray / But I’ll move those clouds away / Letting the sun shine through / In this ode to you / Let the demons have their place / If so it’s angels you’ll create / And disguised within the dark / Light will wait / My heart I owe you my soul Dredg – Ode to the Sun

Taken from the parking lot at Clingmans Dome,GSMNP. The mountain was named for Brigadier General Thomas Lanier Clingman, by Arnold Guyot a geographer. Clingman in the 1850’s was the first to accurately measure the height of the mountain. The mountain was called Kuwa’hi (the mulberry place) by the Cherokee. This is where the legendary great bear chief and doctor dwelled. In whose magic bath the wounded bears are restored to health…Settlers first called it Smoky Dome then later was called Mount Buckley before Guyot named it offically

For every 10 or so times I set the alarm early and creep off out into the darkness, I get a reward of the most amazing of natural light shows. St Margarets Bay this morning was the best i’ve had the good fortune to see and suddenly the 4.a.m. alarm call seemed to be worth it. Photographs from St. Margarets Bay, Kent

As I walk this Native American path of the “Good Red Road” / I awaken to say good morning to Grandfather Sun, in ode; Gratitudes spoken to the four directions and All Our Relations / Father Sky and Mother Earth, not leaving out any Creations; I raise the pipe high, letting smoke rise to the Spirit, so great / asking for peace and abundance in messages to generate; Towards the “Blue Road to Spirit”, my soul flies high to seek / For my sisters and brothers to thrive whether strong or weak; As Grandmother Moon rises, again I will drum, dance and sing / Until the ways of our ancestors’ prayers are brought upon wings; Proud to be related to the clawed, finned, crawling and standing / my voice will be heard in the stars of great truth and understanding. Shot taken minutes after the sunset over the snow covered Lake of Two Mountains, Oka Quebec, CANADA. I particularly liked how the sun’s rays created a vertical light beam into the sky. Thus the village’s name would be linked to its most famous product, Vernaccia, the local wine. Others maintain that the place name comes from a Latin predial, Vulnetia, indicating a family that owned land. • 1080: the first mention of the village dates to a deed of gift by Albert IV Rufo, grandson of Adalbert II of the Obertenghi family, drawn up in castro Vernazio, i.e. the castle of Vernazza. • 1207: the lords of Vernazza submit to Genoa. • 1242: the inhabitants of Vernazza drive back Frederick II’s troops led by his deputy Oberto Pallavicino. • 1254: in the Cathedral of Santa Reparata in Florence, Florentine judges concede Vernazza to Genoa, together with all lands and castles situated between the Magra river and Genoa itself. • 1310: date of the earliest documents referring to the Church of Santa Margherita di Antiochia. • 1874: the railway line between Genoa and La Spezia is completed, putting an end to the village’s centuries-old isolation. • 1997: UNESCO places Vernazza, together with the other four towns of the Cinque Terre, on its “world heritage” list.

An acrylic painting on canvas 60cm x 30cm of the sun setting over the shadowed land. Night is approaching and the sun paints the sky with its sizzling rays in protest of its retreat. A painted memory of a romantic sunset. The sun is setting over the hill / the air is calm the night is still / It paints the sky with its sizzling rays / it retreats for the night until the next day….. As I was painting this abstract, I pondered the many meanings to the word “approach”...for example there is…. / The simple act of drawing near…. / A way, passage, or avenue by which a place or buildings can be approached; an access. / The temporal property of becoming nearer in time..e.g. “the approach of winter” / The final path followed by an aircraft as it is landing… / My painting is mainly concerned with the last two…I wanted to evoke both meanings of the word…it is the final curtain of autumn and winter is fast approaching..pockets of red and orange gleam here and there, as autumn stubbornly defies the chill, but at night the icy fingers of winter touches everything with frost..in the countryside snow drifts casually down, as if refusing to admit it’s here for good…another look at the painting evokes the final approach to land…stars twinkle in the night sky, the land shows the last vestiges of fall and the approach of winter….we are excited, relieved to have made it home safely once more... Watercolour on Aquaboard The half-stripped trees / struck by a wind together, / bending all, / the leaves flutter drily / and refuse to let go / or driven like hail / stream bitterly out to one side / and fall / where the salvias, hard carmine— / like no leaf that ever was— / edge the bare garden.
