The blur in this portrait expresses the busy activity in those hot, late summer days, when the work must get done, but the world is a haze. The golden rich color of the sunflower reflects the warmth of the day and acts as the sunshine pouring out of the picture. The deep rich colors warm and brighten the environment.

Indian Summer is a mosaic of vitreous glass, mirror and Van Gogh glass. Large, bright sunflowers wave in the breeze in front of a bright blue sky. Indian Summer contains over 3,000 individual pieces of glass, most cut by hand.
