Photograph was taken in 2003 at a “clothing optional” guest house on the NSW Central Coast.
Water colour.
why is it that the media, models, and celebrities insist on this unrealistic image? Have they not noticed that most woman arent comfortable with themselves because they dont suit the model image. I have learned to accept that i cant change my body, and i’m unique the way i am. I shouldnt have to worry what people say i should look and be like, just for them to like me. whats funny to me about this photo is that I had a fairly decent camera, canon something, roughly 300 dollars US, had it three years and never used it. Bob was the first thing I decided to shoot (this was 2002). I had no idea what I was doing, I couldn’t focus well, I didn’t know what apature was, and yet, this is one of my favorite photos Ive ever taken. / I had a great deal more photographs of this set-up, but they were developed and the negatives have been gone for years, and the proofs themselves, they probably disappeared around the few years where I had 4-5 roommates at a time. I’m glad he didn’t pose for me while we did this, I think it wouldn’t have turned out as well if he did.
This is the beginning stages of a project i am working on. Several of the photos to come would be part of the project (its developing) hope you like it. =) comments and critiques appreciated. =)
