Morning light skims across a scene at Dinner Plain in the Victorian High Country. Waking up and walking around in the mornng light amoungst the trees was a delight.

Took this photo whilst visiting a friend in Italy. My friend spends the week living in a flat in Milan where he studies at University and then spends the weekend living with his parents up the Alps. In the afternoon he took me snowboarding down the mountainside to these cottages where we met a bunch of really crazy Italians for a party. I still cant remember what happened that night (alcohol) but fortunately i took this photo whilst I was still sober.

Taken on Saturday January 31st/09, at the Oka Ferry-Ice Bridge site, crossing over from Oka, Quebec to Hudson, Quebec CANADA. / This ferry crossing becomes, what is called here in Canada, an “Ice Bridge”, during the winter months,over the Lake of Two Mountains. It is basically a roadway across the lake to the other side that is groomed and maintained by the same company that operates the ferry during warmer months. Not normally an extreme sports enthusiast, I couldn’t help myself. I am fascinated by the strength and agility required for this type of undertaking. I took this series of images with my new Nikon VR 55-200mm zoom lens (Nikon D40), while in the car, on the ice bridge, on the way to a friend’s house, my husband driving. / Parasking is a popular winter activity here in the north and is quite amazing to watch. Unfortunately I could not wait around to get a shot of this paraskier once he took to the air!
