I think…as photographers we can all relate to this scene. We’ll all LIVE until we get that final shot that we REALLY like…and ‘even then’...we won’t rest until we have that BEST shot, right? LOL I saw this ensemble in an antique store window in Brentwood, CA. I did some cropping, lighting and other bits of photo editing to get it this way. This is one of five different versions. :) PLEASE ‘view larger’.
Collage made from old anatomical etchings from the 17th century – as far as I can find out they’re public domain. Book is called Tabulae sceleti et musculorum corporis humani by Bernhard Siegfried Albinus. Original: /
Just the skeletal remains left of this gum leaf…looked so delicate but was rather hard and strong!!
I encountered this scene while winter camping with friends in the Catskill Mountains of New York State in the USA. From the way I’ve been able to piece the scenario together, the deer was taking water at this frozen stream, probably when it wasn’t frozen, when it was surprised by one or several bobcats. Bobcats are prevalent in this area and one had left its “calling card” in our campsite in the dead of night. One of the guys in our group had a book on wildlife scatology. That’s how we were able to tell. The image was taken with an old fashioned Nikon F3, a normal 50mm nikkor lens at f/8 1/125 of a second with 400 asa tri-x black and white film. I colorized it in photoshop.
