Yes I finally got my IR filter! This is the first shot I have taken with it so far, however as I took this this morning while rushing to work, I completely forgot to take a tripod or to set the white balance so I feel quite lucky it even turned out at all.. I just wish it wasn’t so overcast so I could have captured the dark infrared sky.. Sure it isn’t the best IR shot, but I have plenty of time to learn! Thanks for looking!

Some skaters on the ice at one of the most famous tourist spots of the Netherlands, the mills at Kinderdijk, taken after sunset. There is nothing like skating on natural ice to turn the Dutch into a crowd of fitness fans. Due to the climate change natural ice strong enough for outdoor skating has been very scarce these years. I shot this on Thanks Giving Day on the roof of a church. It was about forty feet to the roof. as I reached the roof the ladder collapsed and I rode the ladder all the was to the ground and smashed my ankle, it was sore for a month. My friend and I got to shout for maybe 10min. before the cops showed up. I thought they were going to arrest us for sure. But they let us go and I got 2 sweet shots and that is why I call this shot Thanks Giving Day.

My first Twin Lens Reflex camera arrived today wOOt wOOt!! A lovely little 1940’s Kodak Brownie Reflex in beautiful condition. So what did I do? I proceed to pull it apart and then wrap 100mph tape and cardboard around it to create my light blocking contraption so I could start experimenting with TtV photography!! As you do ;) Sorry Great Aunt Gladys! I didn’t break it though, just removed a little bit ;) It is waaaaay more challenging than I thought it would be, and I think I may have developed an ebaying-for-tlr-cameras addiction in the last week but the results – when you get it right – are totally worth it, so all things considered I might stick with this for a bit ;)
