  • Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ~Isaiah 1:18 Holy Bible “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” ~John 3:16-18 Holy Bible A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. ~John 13:34-35 Holy Bible

  • It’s OK to dabble in Sin when you’re young, but I know that as the years pass one starts to wonder if there is the possibility that in the after life you actually do have to pay a price. I’ve amused myself over the years with imagining different scenarios the Devil may face when old sinners think about their lives, and what may be waiting for them. I’ve done numerous works on the subject, and I’ve found pen and/or brush and India Ink a perfect medium for my imaginings. Most of the art is 25 cm x 35 cm on good quality cartridge paper, though I often work much larger. This one was achieved with a Mapping Pen, and a Number 2 Sable brush.

  • When I was a little boy going to Convent School the Nuns showed a picture of a ‘Good boy’ and a ‘Bad boy’. The good boy’s soul was pure white, but the bad boy’s was covered in black stains. This image is how I believe a lot of people see me ( and I suppose I see myself ); why else would they cross the road to avoid me, as it’s not often I dribble or mutter to myself. Of course, I am ‘different’, and don’t quite fit in comfortably to ‘normal’ society, and this is one of the reasons I moved to the bush. My cats, and the birds and animals I encounter seem to accept me as just another living creature; my cats even show me love, at least until I feed them, but even then they’ve been known to want a cuddle, or just sit with me for company. I may be rather blind, but the painting is not the result of that, as it worked out almost exactly as planned. It’s on Fabriano 280gsm watercolour paper, 50 cm x 70 cm, and the medium used is simply India Ink.

  • Virtue runs before the muse / And defies her skill, / She is rapt, and doth refuse / To wait a painter’s will. Star-adoring, occupied, / Virtue cannot bend her, / Just to please a poet’s pride, / To parade her splendor. The bard must be with good intent / No more his, but hers, / Throw away his pen and paint, / Kneel with worshippers. Then, perchance, a sunny ray / From the heaven of fire, / His lost tools may over-pay, / And better his desire R.W.Emerson I named this painting Virtue after Emerson’s poem “Loss and Gain”, in part because I think the muse has been with me throughout this series…I certainly had “good intent”...I have not had to discard any of the paintings, and all I have done so far have been posted…by now you know that I am not simply painting faces, although on one level it could be seen as such…each portrait tells a story not only of womanhood, but of life in general…they were designed to intrigue, to disturb, to make the viewer think twice about the subject and what it is trying to say…not simply a “Party” like the one before this, but more a statement of what life is or can be…”Virtue” looks out of the frame with parted lips….what is she trying to say about her life?...what does her name mean? Watercolour on Arches Not Paper FEATURED IN WATERMEDIA PAINTINGS / The Party / The Beauty / The Star / The Night / The Temptation / The Quiet / The Plea / Le Maquillage / The Queen / The Masquerade / The Cameo

  • Acrylic, mixed media on canvas

  • Psalm 119:105 / “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” / If EVER, we need to heed the Word of God, to heal the people of the world, from rampant evil that boggles the mind. It seems that so many no nothing about righteousness. If EVER we need to follow God….....it is NOW!!!!! / This is a Gerbera, that I grew in my garden this Summer. It reminded me of the Sun…. Or….. “THE SON”... of God.. so bright, so WORTHY of worship!! /

  • We defile ourselves with sin all the while thinking we shall be saved. We break the Ten Commandments, / sure that we will be saved. We push the limits of human kind, / knowing in our minds we shall be saved. Are we going to be saved.? Look in the Night / Shadows and tell me if your sure. How sure are you, when you see the moment / in the Night Shadows. What is moving? Night Shadows are waiting for your fall from Grace. / The Shadows russle in the night in antispation of / your soul. Now, how sure are you? / They shall come when it is time. Will we be saved? It’s up to you to find your answer with God. AW 2009 / /

  • The wind was blowing, and Cosmos do not stand still for it! So, even as the wind was blowing, I snapped to see what I would get. This was one, and it so reminded me of the verse….. / “The wind blows where it wants to. You can not see it, but you can tell where it has been”. Well, that is my version of now it goes, but it is quite close to the meaning. When we belong to Christ, He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us, to be our Helper, our guide. And He will guide us into all truth. That is why we grow, as Christians, and later, rather than sooner, we grow to think and act like Christ. The followers of Christ, in the City of Antioch, were first called “Christians”. That name, was really an epithet to them, as they meant it to be. It meant, “little Christs”... as they followed, acted, and thought like Christ did. If you are familiar with Scripture, you know that God IS love. And all of the attributes of God, are totally righteous. No, Christians are not perfect…...yet. Not until we reach our final home will we be perfect, along with our “perfect” body, that will be like that of the risen Christ! So, we are like other people, all growing at different rates, and making mistakes. But we have the Holy Spirit that reminds us, that we DID make a mistake, and to correct it, before too much time goes by. This image of the Cosmos, reminded me of the Holy Spirit, as you can see the effects of the wind… but I did NOT see the wind…. just felt it blowing softly on my face. / The Holy Spirit is like that. He is a gentle reminder, that we have done wrong. And he is easily offended by our stubbornness.. or pride. That is why we must tell God…. “sorry”.. as soon as possible…..so as not to become hard hearted. / John 3:8~ / /
