  • The story behind this design relates to myspace. I like to send a thanks you to any one who adds mikoto as a friend thanks for the add comment. • Don’t you just love how the contents of a sushi roll are all snuggled together in the middle of the rice and sea-weed. In this case the odd couple, salmon and cucumber seem very happy in snuggled together. detail of graphic:

  • mikoto’s Daruma Doll someone asked me at my stall at Paddington Markets about the meaning behind the skull logo. I talked to them about how I wanted to achieve a balance between cuteness and evil/cheeckyness in all of the mikoto designs. Having the skull and cross bones with love heart eyes and a cute smile symbolized that. I also talked about how having one eye coloured related to the Japanese Daruma Doll. The Daruma is a Japanese doll that is sold near Buddhist temples all throughout Japan. It symbolises optimism, persistence, and strong determination because of its ability to be tilted to one side and always return to the upright position. The doll’s eyes only contain the color white. Using black ink, you fill in a single eye while thinking of a wish. If the wish comes true, the second eye is then filled in. When I designed the logo I made one eye black with the Daruma Doll and a wish in mind. The mikoto logo is representative of a personal Daruma. It holds a wish that I hope one day Ill achieve, and represents the qualities I need to possess to make it happen. hopefully, my goals will one day come true, and Ill be able to colour in both eyes. thanks for taking the time to meet mikoto’s Daruma Doll scotty

  • An untouched photo .I took that shot at sunrise, every little stars you see were made of ice and refklected the sun.My favorite untouched so far. / Same morning as Criss Cross and Glittering without the blue tone. / / / / /

  • I have been thinking about how to merge a few of my designs together and I like how this has worked out. I based on the idea of one of those Pandora bracelets you have that you can continually add to. IN this case I have the daruma doll, mocha, skull, forkers, a moon and french bulldog. Plus a few stars. enjoy!

  • French BullDog French Bulldogs are one of my favourite breads of dog, simply because of funny look they have on their face. When I was in Switzerland a few years ago I remember sitting having dinner at an up-market restaurant. I could heard this snotty labored breathing nearby. I turned around to see what it was and there were these two french bulldogs sitting upright at the next dinner table staring over at me and my food. I will never forget their comical and stark expressions.

  • I wish I could come up with a better name for her… scratch that, I wish I could come up with ANY name for her actually. Oh well… maybe it’s better that way. Anyway, it was more so tedious than time-consuming but I’m satisfied with the result. I’ll probably experiment with different color schemes at a later point. It really looks like it has alot of potential in that department. Comments would be appreciated! Toodloo

  • This one is some what experimental.. Wasn’t sure where I was heading with it but it does represent one of the simplest plants we know.. Wheat….It’s so simple and has been a staple food, well, forever! This image represents it’s timeless quality.

  • Vintage effect - simplified
    by Rosalie Dale IPA

Here’s the basis for my Vintage effect rose just posted … I …

Here’s the basis for my Vintage effect rose just posted … I did go on and add a few frills (see my paragraph at the end) but the whole outcome hangs on this simple process: While this is aimed at PS / CS2 / CS3 users I’m confident you’ll find this doable in Elements also. 1. Make a DUPLICATE LAYER of your image (control J) / 2. In the Image menu, go to Adjustments and across and down to Gradient Map / 3. This should show you pretty little boxes of colour! Click on the one which has darker grey in top LH corner, decreasing to white in lower RH corner. Click OK / 4. Across to the top right of your Layers Pallette, click on the tiny arrow next to Opacity. / 5. Move the slider till the image suits you … maybe halfway? / 6. Go to Image menu / 7. Down to Adjustments and across to Photo Filter. / 8. Choose the Sepia filter, and adjust the sepia density. Click OK. / 9. Back to Image menu / 10. Down to Adjustments and across and down to Brightness/contrast / 11. Fiddle the sliders a tiny bit to get the contrasty look that you’d like. Click OK This is basically it – you’ll need to flatten the image before saving. However there are many more variations you can use once you are comfortable with this process. Try adding a different filter other than Sepia, or some tasteful light with the Render filter. Try doing another duplicate layer with Gaussian blur and erasing the blur at maybe 50% from the main focus of the shot (as I did with my rose) … then of course flatten again before you save. Please point me to your image if you use this – I’ll be interested to see how you go!!!

  • If I could sum this up in one perfect word, it would be Ragadellic. Don’t you think? I guess one of my guilty pleasures are Chuck T’s. You just can’t get a more perfect shoe. This is the Converse Generation as they say. / Everyone takes photos of Allstars, I know, but they are a good subject, so why not? This is my first attempt of a Converse shot, and I think I did pretty well. • It was snowing heavily in late evening upon our arrival in St Johann, Austria. This lovely lone tree was full of snow and went straight into my must photograph journal, I decided to wait till morning to get the best light. The only thing that stopped my planned photograph, the morning rain. Although this shot was not what I was intending I am happy with the result as the mist did help in isolating the tree. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 70mm, f/11, 1/400 sec, ISO 200. No filters used. A massive amount of dust and hair removed in photoshop, where had my camera been and OMG, how do I stop the sensor getting that dirty? • I’m so glad every now and then it snows heavily in England. Just after stuffing the car into a ditch, through expert test driving on ice, ahem, actually practicing handbrake turns, oops. While deciding how to dig the car out on the ditch in Eaton Bray, Bedfordshire, UK, I noticed these lovely trees. / It was a fair old way into the middle of the field to get the right perspective but I’m glad I did. / I hope you like it.
