Whilst people hustle and bustle getting to work on trains, buses and cars all over the world some of us take the time to reclaim our freedom from “the man”. Always take time for youself because we are all allocated only so many sunrises. Taken with Canon 1Dmk2 with 24-70L @ 70mm, 1/400 f8 iso 100

When I look upon a star, Whilst I will never know what exactly this young ballerina was thinking I could tell by the way she stood so still and watched as the other ballerinas danced. I suppose in many ways it takes us back to childhood and our own memories of someone we wanted to emulate. What does her future hold…....... This was inspired by a Simon & Garfunkle song, Punky’s Dilemma. A very amusing song, I think. :) Just for general information, I didn’t draw/create the jam jar. I don’t remember where I got it, though. :( If anyone knows the origin of it, I’ll be happy to give them credit. :)
Shot with Canon 5Dmk2 and Canon 24-70 2.8L lens (34mm) at f22, 1.6sec Auto WB ISO50 in Apeture mode. / Red Rock, Yuragir National Park, Mid North Coast, NSW Australia. I would like to thank my good friend Simone Byrne for her advice and encouragement with my landscapes. Check her out on RB if you want to see some truely outstanding photography. I think this is one of my best images. Believe it or not it is very difficult to capture images here because of its bearing and landscape. The colours of the rocks, the short duration of light and the bright sky tend to cause loss in a significant range in either highlights or darks whichever way you try to capture it. I had to use an 8 stop neutral density filter and 4 stop grad ND to get a balance between the two.
This is a series I started shortly after my older brother Darren’s wedding in March this year. / I couldn’t afford a wedding present for him and I felt terrible about it, so I decided to start drawing a belated wedding present for them. / This is the work that I am most proud of to date. / I started the first one in April and finished the last one in June. / It was an epic body of work that I had to keep going back to between commisions. I have been dying to post this first installment since I finished it on April 20th 2009, but restrained myself until all three were completed. / Special thanks to Mark at Perceptions Photography for giving me permission to use the reference photo (which you can see on his website) Graphite Mechanical Pencils 3H, HB, 2B on Reeves A4 white sketch paper Completed 20th April, 2009

The Black King’s Bishop (The Shaman) / Artist: Simon Sherry / Biography: Danny Descendants of an ancient race, the Shaman have links to the old ways, ways observed before man was the dominant species of the world. The shaman is spiritual overlord of the army and is answerable only to the king. Legend has it the ancestors of the king tricked the shaman – even then a dying breed- to serve him and in doing so bound their loyalty to all kings that followed for all time. / Shaman have become an intricate link in the chain that have evolved into the Armies of the Black Spear and it’s development into the warrior nation it has now become. The Shaman through majik and selective breeding have created the Black Knights, Monoliths, Basilisk and Pawn Spawn / The Shaman does not regret or harbor resentment for things past and is totally loyal to the king and the betterment of the Army of the Black Spear. The Shaman splits itself into two distinct personalities when it enters the battle controlling each body with either side of its brain. Left for Queen – Right for King. Read more of the Shaman here

The love of my life, my heart’s desire, my greatest reward from the Gods for the hard lessons I’ve had to learn. / This young lady Claire O’Brien and I are to be wed on the 31st of October in the Australian version of Beltane (which is traditionally in May in the northern hemisphere), a Pagan time of celebration where the God and Godess are reunited finally. / A notion that couldn’t be more apt, as Claire and I met on Red Bubble in April this year, fell deeply in love, despite 10,000 miles between us. / She travelled to Australia alone and stayed with me for 5 weeks in June/July, and we knew we were born for each other, without question. / I asked her to marry me while she was here, and with immense courage we sacrificed our time with each other once again for distance, in order for her to apply for immigration, which would not have been possible without financial help from kind hearted family members, particularly Mary and Clive. She went back to England 12 weeks ago, and the visa was finally approved last week. She will arrive back in my arms in a week, a moment we have been hoping, dreaming, and begging for. / This is a true romantic story with a happy ending :) Completed 16th September, 2009 / Graphite mechanical pencils, 3H, HB, 2B, 8B on Reeves white sketch paper, A3
