A different perspective on the world. Also a nice seasonal picture. It’s a picture of glass globes that have been hanging in the front window at home and I took the picture through them into the winter wonderland outside. It’s not a recent picture, it was taken two, maybe three winters ago. Thought I’d put it up and let it get some exposure! I’m really happy with how it turned out! I hope you enjoy this piece. What a plethora of colour! I love how this shot turned out excited I adore the bokeh effect mixed with the clarity of the drop on the left. It’s like a magic rainbow wonderland! I hope you enjoy this pretty little butterfly that I took in my garden this past summer :) He didn’t seem to mind me poking around with my camera… I was glad of the opportunity! He didn’t stay long but I managed to get a few good shots! I adore the markings and colourings of his wings! Isn’t that red/orange colour just stunning! I’m very proud of this photo, I really love how it turned out. Looking back and my gallery from beginning to now, I can truly see how I have grown as a photographer and this fact makes me very happy and accomplished :heart: Certainly I have a long way to go yet, but the nice thing about this hobby is that I am very passionate about it. Hopefully some day I can do something more with photography. That’ll be so amazing! Thanks to the investigative brilliance of a friend, I’ve found out the name of this pretty butterfly! It is called “American Lady – Vanessa virginiensis” They seem to be common to New England, though I am guessing generally on the East coast (since I’m in Virginia ^^;) and are under the category of “Anglewings” Camera: Taken with a Canon Rebel XTi / Cropping, small hue/tint adjustments + Sig: Adobe Photoshop CS2 © SilverDew All comments are welcomed and appreciated. So, the title of this picture and the atmosphere has another meaning for me. Sure, I am endlessly thankful for my friend’s kindness and generosity – isn’t it wonderful getting flowers? :D but this shot has many other (important) meanings for me, too. I purposely worked on the atmosphere of this shot and the simplicity of it, as well. Letting the overall effect give meaning to the piece. I hope I have succeeded. If I have, please let me know! I took this shot in my back yard :) The male cardinal is the state bird of both Virginia (where I’m at) and Ohio. It’s such a majestic bird, with a distinctive chirp _ I really hope you enjoy this picture. The only post production that was done was small adjustment of levels and contrast. I also added the black border, of course, to make it look more like a letterbox format. I think the black and red contrast nicely together. All comments are welcomed and appreciated. A picture I took of a butterfly on yellow tiger lilies in my garden back in June of 2007. I somehow misplaced it and I came across it today so I thought I’d upload it :) (I was sooo glad I found this batch of photos again) I like how the light is shining on the butterfly; plus the zig-zag effect of the green leaves and the yellow lilies. I finally got a nice shot of a cardinal! Believe me, they are very sensitive birds and just the smallest sound or slightest movement and they’re off! I’ve gotten many great cardinal BLUR pictures :P … this time I was very fortunate and lucky!
