Arrested Expansion is a symbolic scene that depicts a combination of self-excluding objects that might not be present in real life. Objects in the secluded room make the viewer feel claustrophobic and unreal, which might be compared to someone’s mental delusion based on a medical condition. Image is a mixture of photo stock with some 2D vectors, and 3D objects. Photoshop, 3ds max, Illustrator. / The most common cause of cardiac arrest is a heart rhythm disorder or arrhythmia called ventricular fibrillation (VF). The heart has a built-in electrical system. When a contraction happens, blood is pumped. But in ventricular fibrillation, the electrical signals that control the pumping of the heart suddenly become rapid and chaotic. As a result, the lower chambers of the heart, the ventricles, begin to quiver (fibrillate) instead of contract, and they can no longer pump blood from the heart to the rest of the body. If blood cannot flow to the brain, it becomes starved of oxygen, and the person loses consciousness in seconds. This is a photo of my wife’s silouette taken during our last vacation (road trip) in the US which in this case is in Death Valley. We had just arrived at the first view point to enjoy a pretty spectaculor view and my wife sat down on the beach and well, there you have it. /

This shot happened quite serendipitously while taking another shot (see Dawn – Sealers Cove). For me it perfectly encapsulates the ideal of what our relationship with nature should be. A simple, childlike, and playful appreciation of natures beauty both mentally and physically. This is my favorite time of the day… and it doesn’t matter if I’m lost somewhere in the mountains of the West… or if I find myself sitting on the shore of an ocean… or just gazing up at a dramatic sky from my back deck… I will never tire of seeing the fading light of day…. An Evening Stroll In Washington DC.

At Millenium Park in Chicago, Illinois there is a huge interactive sculpture and fountain that kids love to play in during the summer. The two towers are lit up with changing pictures of various regualr people’s faces, and then every 10 minutes or so real water will come spouting out of the lips on whichever face is up. I was walking by kind of late, so these boys were the only ones playing in the fountain and I loved how they looked against the lights and in the reflection.

Taken on Scenic Drive. Carmel, California. November, 2007. There’s an interesting story behind this photograph, and #244, “Scenic & 8th. I was in a local camera store in Carmel, the manager of the store was telling me my camera was a toy because it wasn’t a high priced SLR, like he seels in the store. Obviously this annoyed me because i knew what my camera was capable of doing. So I left the store, walked down toward the beach, saw these Cypress trees, and took these shots in about five minutes. / I then walked back up to the camera store, and showed them to the manager, and the staff. They were impressed with the quality of the images. / I love my camera! I’m using the Panasonic Lumix FZ-50 That is what I used to take almost all the photographs in my portfolio. I’m satisfied with the performance of that camera. The images speak for themselves.
