This another shot from Cable Beach. I couldn’t decide whether I liked this better with the more vivid colour or the shot of the whole train. Can you help?

A man strolling on the beach at Queenscliffe, Victoria, Australia, is sillhouetted briefly by the shimmering reflection of the setting sun. The sun was too bright to view through the telephoto lens of the SLR. It was advantageous to have the ability to view the scene on the LCD screen instead – although this made both handheld-framing, and timing, of each shot a bit hit-and-miss. More info here about the risk to your eyesight when framing shots of the sun.
A photograph of a tree sillhouette, taken in Autumn 08. Added lighting and colours created in photoshop CS2.

This image looks exactly the way it felt to capture it! The moss is real, the camera is upright. The slope extends downward at exactly the same precarious angle for a good few hundred metres, and I was wearing the wrong shoes. This is in Central Victoria, Australia.

Sugar cane being farmed in Northern New South Wales, Australia. The cane would be provided to a local mill, which in addition to refining sugar, is being converted to generate electricity that is used to run the mill, with excess being fed into the grid.
A sillhouetted tree, illuminated by the suns rays through a clouded sky. This image was taken from the West Highland way, in the Scottish Highlands, just before the track arrives into Kinlochleven. Sillhouetted in the distance the Pap of Glencoe is just visable.
