Winter sun sinking into Lake Michigan.
The robins were late in showing up this year. I don’t know if they wintered further south, but they’re just making an appearance now. I chased this beautiful robin from tree to tree. Members of the thrush family and cousins of the bluebird, robins are bigger than most backyard birds and easier on old eyes that try to focus on them through a camera lens. A welcome break after trying to get a sharp bead on itsy bitsy hummingbirds and such.

Freighter heading west towards the setting sun, passing “Big Red” and into the open waters of Lake Michigan.
Big Red lighthouse at the entrance of the Holland Harbor. It is one of the many lighthouses of the Lake Michigan, but it is the only lighthouse that has a name. Big Red is also the most photographed of all the Great Lakes lighthouses.
Fooled ya…that is a real boat…I know, I know..it’s a bit weird for me not to have to ‘plonk’ a boat somewhere.. So the sky is fake, but you knew that anyway! ;-) Heehee…it’s all about having fun doing what you love…

Wooly sits proudly adding his lovely, soft dove-grey self to a perfectly staged colored and textured area. / The white you see on his chest is his shirt front- his coat isn’t buttoned yet. The white you see below his waist is his small-clothes; he buttoned his pants, but forgot to zip them! And since he was already late, they just put him in the chute as-is, and down he came from Heaven. And in the rush to the chute, he stepped in milk, so some of his toes are white! My cats are trained to pose- I first trained the 16 year old, Nevada, when she was a kitten. She trained her adopted children, Sebastian (not Sabrina, though) / and Sebastian loves to model, even taking hand signals to move or turn. Wooly learned from Sebastian to pose, though he doesn’t take hand signals unless he wants to. Here, he’s sitting on his friend Wendy”s knee (Wendy hid behind he magazine), and her red sweater makes a perfect background color for “the Wool”. I put the magazine in there to draw out the white on his chest and toes. It featured an African Gray parrot, more purple than Wooly’s coat., and I had caught Wooly “reading” the article earlier.

2SPOCKS says it all. OK, well, maybe not. It’s from Star Trek. It’s referring to the original, hottie, McHotster Spock and his younger, prequel self. Check out the movie this summer. I hand drew it including the fonts; the coloring and stars were Photoshopped in.

Early morning fog and sunlight on the Teton Range, captured from Signal Mountain at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. I headed up the mountain to catch the sunrise to the east. A few minutes later I turned around and walked a few hundred feet further up the mountain and caught this amazing view to the west with the sun hitting the range and fog over the lake below. I had to check my pulse to make sure I was actually seeing this truly an awe-inspiring sight.
