  • Addy, from my Perpetual Motion series. Each peice is drawn entirely with the numbers 1 – 12, marking the hours of the clock. I call this style “Numberism” / As far as I know, it’s never been done before. / Pencil on Vellum paper. 8.5” x 11” Reference photo We’re constantly moving in one of four directions. Even if we choose to do nothing at all, we are still moving through time. Because of this, we can never go back to where we started. Every frame, there is a new “you”, fully formed in the present moment in time, built on our past and hoping for the future, but only truly existing in this moment. It is only this moment that actually exists or ever will exist, and it’s the only point in which our actions and choices will have any effect on the world, and it will be gone as quickly as it came. These drawings are attempts to show just how fleeting these moments are, these moments that so quickly become our long kept memories, and things that despite how much we might like to, are moments we can never relive. My hope is that when we look at these drawings, we will be reminded of the importance of now and possibly take more advantage of it than we might have without the reminder.
