  • The Awesome Tiger…...... The tiger is the largest of all the cats. Sadly, this magnificent animal has been hunted by humans and has lost much of its habitat. Three of the eight subspecies have already become extinct, and other populations are also at high risk. The Chinese tiger and the Siberian tiger are under extreme threat of extinction. No two tigers have the same stripe pattern – each is unique, like human fingerprints. Tiger stripe patterns commonly differ between the two sides of an individual’s body. Their main prey species are large animals such as deer, buffalo and wild pigs, but they will also hunt fish, monkeys, birds, reptiles and sometimes even baby elephants. Occasionally, tigers kill leopards, bears and other tigers.

  • Siberian tiger Straight from camera ! Like all other cats, the Siberian tiger is a carnivorous predator. It preys primarily on wild boar and red deer, which make up 65-90% of its diet in the Russian Far East. Other important prey species are moose, roe deer, sika deer, musk deer, and goral. Even dangerous animals like adult brown bears are among the prey species of the Siberian tiger. Protecting these and other prey animals from illegal hunting may be just as important to the tiger’s survival as preventing the direct killing of the big cats. Unlike the Bengal tiger, the Siberian tiger very rarely becomes a man-eater. There are currently only six cases in Russia of unprovoked attacks leading to man-eating behaviour. Provoked attacks are however more common, usually the result of botched attempts at capturing them. “Siberian tiger…...” was featured in Style! Class! Elegance!…

  • Bob Jan. 16, 1991— May 7, 2007 This is my Husky named Bob. In these pictures he ranges in age from 8 weeks to 15 years. He was a wonderful dog and I miss him dearly. He passed away at the age of 16 years old due to kidney failure. Him and I spent all our time together and losing him was devastating. I will always cherish all the great memories of my beautiful Bob. He will always be in my heart. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it.

  • ! Featured in the Tiger, Tiger group on 14 November 2009 The largest subspecies of tiger is the Siberian (Amur) Tiger. This tiger (Panthera tigris) is a member of the Felidae family; the largest and the most powerful of the four “big cats” in the genus Panthera. Native to much of eastern and southern Asia, the tiger is an apex predator and an obligate carnivore. Reaching up to 4 metres (13 ft) in total length and weighing up to 300 kilograms (660 pounds), the larger tiger subspecies are comparable in size to the biggest extinct felids. Aside from their great bulk and power, their most recognizable feature is the pattern of dark vertical stripes that overlays near-white to reddish-orange fur, with lighter underparts. Camera Details: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi, 55-250mm Zoom Lens, Aperture exp 5.6, Shutter speed 1/40, ISO 200, white balance cloudy. Location: At the zoo in Assiniboine Park, Winnipeg, Manitoba
