I just got the SMS which notified me that I am a semi-finalist in the Kodak Shutterbug 08 Photography Festival. OMG!! That means I’m one of the top 15 photographers who entered this year!! I sent in 2 portfolios…one of Merewether Baths and one of Infrared Landscapes. I’m not sure which portfolio was selected. The Festival’s opening night is on next Tuesday at The Chauvel Cinema in Paddington where my images will be shown on a big screen and I will find out my placing. You can read more about it here

Ok so I wasn’t going to tell the world but I saw that Annette Blattman and Naomi Frost are both finalists as well!! Wow so that means at least 3 out of the 15 finalists (that I know of anyway, there might be more?) are from RB! RedBubble is definitely taking over the world ;)) / Good luck to them and we’ll keep you posted. Well, after several weeks, I’ve finally got my Shutterbug store up and running. A lot of the shots there are the same as here, but there are some different ones. I’ve just found that my image Gladesville Cameo No 1 has won Best of Category (Still Life) for March on the www.Shutterbugs.biz site – the prize is iConnect OneClick software! This free site is international, it has ‘photo of the day ‘awards for eight categories (seven days a week), and, for financial members, it extends then to monthly and annual prizes also. Many thanks to the anonymous buyer of Faded Rose as a mounted print (16 May 09) ... I am honoured. I trust it gives you great pleasure! Among other featureds, challenge wins and ‘top tens’ recently, is a very pleasing Best of Category win for the Theme “Light” for the Month of April on Shutterbugs.biz. The BOC is subject to vote by quite a few people so I was quite chuffed. The winning image was Toward the Lilypond. When I get photographer’s block, or am underwhelmed by my latest offerings, it is the encouragement and comments of my peers that gets me moving again – so thank you everyone for persevering. AND can I encourage you, in turn, to have a go … it is amazing how many people will love something that you may think twice about uploading!

This is me hiding my face behind my Canon AE-1 Program. I bought it in 1985, my 1st SLR Camera. It one tough camera, it’s been dropped a few time and still works fine. In 2002 I took it for the first time to a repair shop to have it checked out and cleaned. The only part that needed to be changed was a weak spring in the shutter system. I don’t use it much now that I have my DSLR, but I’ll never part with it, It my pet, it’s mine until I die. / Photo shot on self timer with my Canon Rebel XT(DSLR). / I changed the background, it was originally my ugly basement ceiling.

It’s just as well I was not using film when visiting Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia recently, otherwise I would have had to take out a bank loan to pay for it! Everywhere you turn, there is a view to entice the eye.
