  • And who, do you suppose, is to blame? And who, would you say, could blame us? For wanting the imagination back they beat out of us since coloring books and “no playing with your food!”. Don’t they know! We just want something illogical! We want something ridicious! We want something lovely and mind-boggling that will make us think more than chemistry equations ever will…Don’t they know! We are going to paint scribbles and play with our food…. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— Who are YOU?’ said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I-I hardly know, sir, just at present- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.’ `What do you mean by that?’ said the Caterpillar sternly. `Explain yourself!’ `I can’t explain MYSELF, I’m afraid, sir’ said Alice, `because I’m not myself, you see.’ `I don’t see,’ said the Caterpillar. `I’m afraid I can’t put it more clearly,’ Alice replied very politely, `for I can’t understand it myself to begin with; and being so many different sizes in a day is very confusing.’ `It isn’t,’ said the Caterpillar. `Well, perhaps you haven’t found it so yet,’ said Alice; `but when you have to turn into a chrysalis-you will some day, you know-and then after that into a butterfly, I should think you’ll feel it a little queer, won’t you?’ `Not a bit,’ said the Caterpillar. `Well, perhaps your feelings may be different,’ said Alice; `all I know is, it would feel very queer to ME.’ `You!’ said the Caterpillar contemptuously. `Who are YOU?’

  • Here is my newest work finished just now; this is Ms. Sarah and you will be seeing lots of her. We just finished a crazy BIG Shoot in Memphis at the Memphis College of Art (MCA)—we shot inside and out, so I got some verrrrrrry cool pics to work with. I got my start there as a 12 year old kid going to Saturday School-I did that for four years-I always wished I could go there for college-BUT—life happened! Hope you like this one, as I have been shooting nature studies with this very kind of piece in mind. To me it comes off like she is hoping you don’t see her there hiding on the flipped mushroom??? What do you think???

  • (on yellow) Waiter, there are creatures in my soup! My hallucination of pumpkin soup on acid or shrooms or maybe it was the opium? Ahh well… here’s a surreal look at soup, complete with poppy girl, mushroom man, meditating guru, baby, bunny, lovely lady and fluffy slippers? Soup anyone? 7 colours. Pencil drawing, with colouring/ shading (Illustrator/ Photoshop). Threadless t-shirt submission. *Red Bubble Group Feature in “Psychedelic Art & Design” 30-Jun-09 (thanks webgrrl)!

  • This design was inspired by seeing so many mushrooms growing on our property. It has rained for three weeks now, and yesterday I came across a mushroom the size of a large plate (or a sitting stool as our neighbour pointed out). This is my Laurel and Hardy of mushrooms.
