  • By the Yarra in Melbourne. Also available in black and white.

  • Webb Bridge is down-to-earth, a project Melbourne can be proud of, built among the superannuated towers of Docklands. It suggests, romantically, the fishing nets, cages, middens and naughty hosiery of the old wharfs. It is biological and ethereal, a stab in the dark and sculptural.

  • I managed to put together a home made lightbox, and this is the first proper result I’ve had with it (it’s a composition, of course).

  • Blue water drop

  • The view looking up at the Coops Shot Tower in Melbourne. I love the contrast between the old and the new. / / / / © Shelley Heath (aka Soul Creates), Copyright 2008, All rights reserved.

  • b&w version per request / original: / This was taken on my parent’s back porch on a Friday evening. Fridays are “family night” and generally the kids play outside but it was raining so my niece was watching the rain fall. I said her name and when she looked I took this photo. So that’s the story behind the title. :)

  • A night shot of an alley in Vittoriosa, Malta. This town was the residence for the Knights of Malta before they built Valletta. Vittoriosa is one of my favorite shooting grounds. One day I decided to give it a try at night. I liked this alley the minute I saw it. Problem was that all street lighting was yellow. Still I went ahead, set up my tripod and took a few shots. Back on my computer, I didn’t like the yellowish cast. So I desaturated and painted back the yellow on that one street lamp at the bottom of the alley. Nikon D70 / Nikkor 18-70 f/3.5-4.5G

  • I have warned Mr Akamatsu not to use his 1 wood in the backyard on several occasions which is why one can easily understand my frustrations when I caught this with my camera. I refuse to return anymore golf ball that I find in my living room…. Straight from the camera. Nothing is attached to the ball and this image is just one shot. The key to this is the 50mm lens. I simply tossed the ball myself up in front of the camera. Camera: Canon EOS 40D / Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/400) / Aperture: f/13 / Focal Length: 50 mm / ISO Speed: 800 / Exposure Bias: 0 EV / Flash: Flash did not fire

  • Hate can be shown in various ways and do so all the time. The only way we can stop all the hatred going on I think is to show/help people to be more open minded. Nowdays nothing is longer “new” so the only reason alone why people still has to be such ignorant fools is that they don’t know any better. / This is my take on one way hatred often is shown, on somebody different. To be different suppose to be a good thing. To stand out from the “normal” crowd and mainstream living. Yet so many people is neglected and looked down upon by the very same reason. / To stand out is to be strong. To dare go against the modern society we have today and pursuit his/her way of living. This can be many many ways, gender, skin color, sexuality, dressing, talking etc etc, the list can be made into all eternity. It’s scary how many people still that lacks tolerance and respect/understanding towards new things. / I wonder when the rest of the world is going to have an open mind, if ever… Canon EOS 400D / Sigma 17-70 / F2.8-4.5 / ISO 100 / f/4.5 / 1/4 s / 33mm CS4 for vignetting & levels More works can be found over at DeviantART / and / rdblanche.com
