Part of a series on Chapel Street Personalities and friends. Down the Windsor end of Chapel. I wanted them to be themselves, so i could hopefully see some of ‘them’ as i knew them, in the images. / They work for me, as i do see them in the images.

Had a little play with the processing of the B&W film on these two.
It’s Christmas, the time most of companies make at least half of their benefits of the year. The time they convince you of all you should need, that you obviously don’t. The shops are prettier, the salesman is nicer, the street are full of love and lights. They got 45 days to make you buy, after it’s loo late, and it’s the sales… It’s a hard world we’re living in, two ways to survive : be rich or try not to exist by buying.

The theme is Constructed Reality. / I chose this shot because of the “reality” that the new Woodwards building in East Vancouver is creating for the residents of the east side. I particular enjoy how the Woodwards building is highlighted by the suns rays, contrasted by the dark foreground showing a cart of possessions belonging to one of said east side residents. Feedback is much appreciated on this one.
Kerry Hodge / Country Singer & Songwriter (Leeton, NSW) Kerry is a true blue Aussie bushman who began singing and writing country music at a young age, winning his first talent quest at twelve years old. In 1977 Kerry wrote and recorded a song about the great pacer Paleface Adios, and performed it live on pay television in 2002. Between 1999 and 2001, he competed in the worlds richest singing competition at the Marrickville RSL Club, making the semi finals each year. Out of 2000 entrants he was placed into the final 12 each time. Kerry has performed with some of the best country singers in Australia, including Gordon (The Pub with No Beer) Parsons, Lee Kernaghan, The Wolverines and many more. Kerry has performed and won awards at The Tamworth Country & Western Music Festival, The Parke’s Jamboree and received a special award from Nashville Tennisee for his compositions. ‘The Singing Hodge Family’ won best group in Tamworth with the song ‘Amazing Grace’. Kerry held a residency at the Mandurama Hotel (NSW) for 2 months in 2003, where the publician recognised his talents and financed Kerry to purchase equipment in order that he could continue to perform live and record CD’s. Kerry can be regularly found busking around Sydney, performing his umbrella balancing act while playing his guitar. A street performer through and through, Kerry is always ready with an Aussie quip and joke.

Lovely old street in Lunel France, we were driving back from Czech Republic and had stopped at this town for coffee. At the time we did not know it had an old historical part but it had and it was a wonderful place to walk around.

Princes Street was Edinburgh for many people who were interested in the shops. For history you went to see the Royal Mile. They are a world apart. Exacta camera on Kodachrome film
I am inlove with this collage. all taken within a 10 feet radius, I practically stalked this man around the market as he went along with his business, looking and shopping for dinner in Granville Island’s Public Market. He was quite a character really, but in a nice way. he just has this quite serious look on his face. / On the second to the last frame, the one with him carrying his grocery bag, as you can see i pointed the camera pretty much straight at him as i knelt down to get the proper perspective i want, and he smiled and nodded at me after. that’s been a little bit of a rarity for me these days. It’s just the beauty of street photography – the type of encounters you get after you get the shot, and the stories you’re left with. It’s something i never really got when i used to do landscape photography, which i really have no patience for these days. I hope you enjoy this collage more than i did, as i really had fun trying to make sense of it while putting it all together. All the pictures on this collage remain untouched, with no exposure or any other type of enhancements. Location : Granville Island, Vancouver BC Canada ps: i just thought about going back to this restaurant nearby and getting them to hang this on their wall hahahaha
A small town Pub. The OPEN and CLOSED sign in the window is a bit confusing but surely the regulars know what the hours are…. / / /
