Gerroa is an idyllic village at the Kiama end of Seven Mile Beach on the south coast of New South Wales … their sunset on Tuesday (6 January 08) was aided by smoke haze from bushfires in the Morton National Forest. After a day in which temperatures reached 40 degrees celsius and beyond, there were plenty of relaxed holiday-makers still enjoying the ambience, the breeze and the spectacular skies. The whole flamin’ world will be covered with them!” And so, my friends, it came to pass. * * * * * * * * * This prolific passing parade, pleasingly posing placidly paddling pretty pelican pairs, perspicaciously photographed at Greenwell Point, near the mouth of the Shoalhaven River on the south Coast of NSW Australia. This river flows through the town of Nowra (as seen in my “Cambewarra Mountain View”) and its headwaters are “harvested” to supplement the Sydney water supply. The Hampden Suspension Bridge is an historical landmark and is the only surviving suspension bridge in New South Wales that was built during the Australian colonial days. The Hampden Bridge is 77 metres long and was built in the year 1897, and named after Lord Hampden, who was the Governor of NSW from 1895 to 1899. The Hampden Bridge straddles the Kangaroo River with the Kangaroo Valley village nestled beside it.
