/ Tobermory is a gorgeous little town on the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario. It’s harbor not only filled with luxury yachts but also with a lot of shipwrecks, which makes it a divers paradise. It’s part of the Fathom Five National Marine Park of Canada. Luckily for me you don’t have to dive to discover a few of the shipwrecks. Luckily because I spent to much time underwater once, without diving gear, and I’m not inclined to submerge myself for longer periods under water. ;) This beauty caught my eye when strolling along the shore, with the duck approaching, I had to hurry but I was just in time to capture it. This image is one of my most popular wallpapers on my wallpaper website and I hope it will make me proud here also. You can find this image as a wallpaper on my wallpaper website more work / preview /

The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by me SBC, with my painting, and drawings. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda through my eyes. This art won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007. It is presently being considered for exhibition at the Royal Navy Dockyard Museum in Bermuda. Thank you for your interest, comments and purchases!

Remains of a sailing vessel washed ashore off Carpenters Rocks, South East South Australia. The boat is submerged in sand and is only visible like this on low tides with slight winds. Slowly being broken down by the ocean waves. Had to wade out to get this shot as it was…
Bec and I got up.. actually we just stayed up all night and then drove to Caloundra to get some shots of the SS DIcky, I’ve been waiting for a good dawn with the right tides for the shots I wanted.. I’m really happy with them :) All comments appreciated - paul http://www.paulpichugin.com

IT WON!!!! I wanted to create a powerful and moody image, which told a dramatic story. In all my work, light plays an important part, and here it was essential for the drama inherent in the scene. On 16/12/09 this work has received 789 views. 234 comments and 69 favourites. I created this in Photoshop CS4 and it is a submission for a national photoshop contest. To create the scene, I merged together 5 images of seas from my own stock, and several skies . The figures in the image were created using models from unrestricted stock in the public domain. They were first copied, then traced over and painted in Photoshop, painting from dark to light. Areas of the sea and sky were also painted in this way. I have used two main textures which give a ‘painterly’ look, and the impression of age. Three colour fill layers were used to add depth and uniformity of colour to the image. The cliff, on the left hand side, is the start image for the contest. The image has been created totally in Photoshop, and all photos used (except the start image) were from my own photo stock. I hope that you like it. ! / MCN/C1URN_7XFKX_NGWVN Features / /
