The sea both serene and deadly. Dealt this day trawler a killing blow a few years ago. The corpse of the boat is slowly decaying and being sucked into the sea, all that is left today is the bleached ribs of the carcass lying in the shallows where the sea threw it.

The world is about to end because of global warming. Temperatures are soaring, ice is melting, glaciers are retreating, seas are rising, and we’re all going to fry. We’re all up to here with worry about it. The Royal Society says there’s no longer any room for scientific doubt about it. Britain’s Chief Scientist says it’s a bigger threat than global terrorism. / Every global warming sceptic is denounced as clinically insane. Every developed nation wags its finger at every other (well, ok then, at America) and tells it to Emit Less. Every politician and B-list celebrity now anxiously measures his or her carbon footprint. Every British schoolchild is now drilled to believe that man-made global warming is a Fact along with poverty and the existence of Belgium. Another in the Masters series. / This is the centre part of a long panoramic watercolour. By Thomas Bush Hardy, 1895. I’ve moved some of the boats to be closer together, as my version is a small painting, 10×7 inches, on rough Bockingford tinted cream paper, 140lb. I will be painting the full length seascape in the future.

Featured on Red Bubble Home Page on Mothers day 2009 this is my mom… and that is you know who.. her great grand child :))))))))))))) on the cruise to Mexico.. the amazing thing is that this is one in a series of the sweetest looks and hugs between them.. we were entertained and were just awwwwwing.. it was so spontaneous and sweet. / and!! this is one of my faves. it makes it double extra special because it was the day of my moms birthday of 83 years in 2007.. which is why we went on a cruise . all of us sisters. were there. and she got to go to the place of her dream since childhood.. My version of a Thomas Bush Hardy (1842-97). From an 1895 watercolour of Ramsgate Harbour. A panoramic shaped painting, 23” x 10”. / Hand-made, 140lb rough paper. Over 20 hours work. Multiple layers of semi-transparent and opaque watercolour, and white zinc gouache for highlights. Viewing in larger size is necessary.

Lonely ship…

Photo taken from the bridge (deck 6) of our trusty little ship Polar Pioneer while crossing Drakes Passage. It was taken one handed as I held on for grim death with the other, lol. The ship was built as an ice breaker, as a result it has a much more rounded hull and NO stabilisers. During the first 24 hours of the crossing we had constant 8 meter seas coming at a 45 degree angle on the port beam. During the second 24 hours nothing much had changed except the seas had increased to 10+ meters. Made for interesting meal times. 100% of proceeds received from Redbubble in respect to sales of this item, will be donated to Bush Heritage Australia
