  How strange can life be? One moment you are standing in a wedding fair showing off your wears, the next you get a random phone call from …

  How strange can life be? One moment you are standing in a wedding fair showing off your wears, the next you get a random phone call from a cruise ship asking you to work on ships… Then if that isn’t enough a second cruiseline called up the following day… Somehow they have seen my work, thing is it isn’t the nice image of photographing places… Instead it is the equivalent to becoming a photographic factory. Shared cabins, lifeboat drills and being told you are to sacrifice your life for the paying guests. I left that a long time ago… Weird they want me to return… More choices: exchange your life for more adventure and photo potential or work the way you have- gradually laying each brick until you finally have a house. Tomorrow I will meet the people and find out whether it is what I want… Although they will have to make me some kind of fantastic offer. Although if Easter Island was part of it… I think I would have to say yes… Six months sharing a cabin, weathering storms and working seven days a week? Does it sound appealing? The reality is far flung from the ideal. Who knows?

  Yes it’s very sad but i am leaving my favourite place in the whole world…...so that i can explore the rest of the world! I have been hired as a photographer aboard Princess Cruise Lines. I will be shooting hundreds of people everyday plus travelling to the most beautiful places on earth….and get paid for it! Don’t get me wrong, i’m not just bragging for the sake of it. There’s a lot of paperwork and work involved. It’s long hours and i would earn more if i stayed working at the cafe i’m working at now. It wont always be fun and laughter. At 21, i’m just old enough to meet the US age limit for working on a licenced ship. Phew! But rest assured i will still be posting lottsa lovely pics here for u all to see, (and buy! Sold yet another Toasted t-shirt today! Thanks a million people!!!!) So i will be leaving these fair Australian shores in April and returning in October. Cant freakin’ wait! Laters Taters! / <3>

  Well hello everyone. You may think that I have disappeared off the face of the planet, well not exactly. I am currently floating around the earth on a luxury cruise ship. I know it sounds glamorous, but when you are working on board it is far from that. Try sleeping in a bunk bed during a storm and being confined to cabins when you are ill. It is more of a prison for nice people… Still in a way it amuses me. I have plenty to feed my mental curiosity like how have the passengers survived so long when they ask such stupid questions. ‘If there is a sperm whale is there also an egg whale?’ / ‘Oh I am stuck in my cabin, how do I get out?’ / ‘Well madam there are two doors, one that leads to the corridor and the other the bathroom. Choose the door that leads to the corridor.’ / ‘I can’t’.’ / ‘Why not?’ / ‘There is a do not disturb sign on the door.’ / I have learned that the extremely wealthy are quite a different breed of people, many look as though they have suffered from g-force, the others, well what can I say? They are nice but really have no clue. One asked if the crew are flown to the ship every day… Anyway a happy Christmas to you all and I will try and update you all on a regular basis, although broadband is not so accessible in Antarctica!
