I have long imagined If I paparazzzzzziiiiied (secretly Id love to be a hated clicker in the paparatzzi set- thats my bad side comin out- shhhhh) back to the the the the point…..... / I long imagined if I showed up to key events on the Sunshine Coast being that its an awesome place to live and breathe and to photograph…..and shot beaut piccies of the competitors or the action that maybe this might prove to be a marketable way to get better known as a photographer (blast the anonymity- how do you spell that??blast it anyways)- and now its possible to try such a venture through a brand new redbubbling portfolio….. so I have done it portfolio number 5- / eventssunshinecoast and if I could the link thingy working I would / linkage it….. / hmmm I hope the piccies are ok…cause shooting em was awesome fun//.........and I hope this works and it brings the business and sponsors to redbubble to buy buy buy….. / ( purely commercial venture here…broke and needs funds…charity accepted….lol)

Somewhere in the forums today I mentioned Scott Walker. He was the lead singer of the Walker Brothers – who, like the Springfields, were not related in any way. Just a couple of days ago I found this clip of the Walker Brothers performing one of their major hits The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore The visuals are interesting themselves, with angels on columns and an industrial city in the background. For anyone in the Woorim area on Sunday afternoon, it would be well worth your while to drop into Blueys pub and check out the locals day. This week promises to be one of the best so far and they have been getting better each month. A couple of new female vocalists to appear and also apparently the drummer from The / Fabulous Thunderbirds is going to play with a couple of the really good local guitarists. The day starts around 12.30 and goes thru to about 5.30, it is in the beer garden and it is a great spot to spend a Sunday arvo, kids welcome, there is a sandpit and they just love to dance, so roll up, rock on and love life. Ciao.

........Which is about the only place it does shine here in central England. I am beginning to wonder if we will ever have a proper summer in the UK again. It’s almost 7 pm and almost dark, yet midsummer has only just past. Looking out of the window as I type this, I see a leaden sky totally flat lighting and yet again the sky is leaking. Most of last month, June, was about the same. I covered two weddings in June, both tested me out. The wettest weather I have worked in in 15 years of wedding photography. On the first I was soaked through for 9 hours solid and had to contend with lighting so poor that the streetlights were on at 1.30 in the afternoon. The second one was worse. Thunder, lightening, and torrential rain so heavy that the sunroof started to leak on the car. And digital cameras really don’t like wet weather. Real toughies. In spite of the conditions, collectively, I shot 960 frames on those weddings and spent the following two weeks editing the results. This was a blessing because the rain continued to fall and I was less tempted to get distracted from the task and wander off somewhere. Its different now. Editing is finished, images burned to CD and sent to clients, I need to flex the creative muscle and the weather is imprisoning me. The last time we got a decent sunset here in central England was 22 June and a magical soft light for the Midsummer Solstice ……since then the golden hour has become the grey hour, at least for me it has, or am I just bitching?
