Meet Shelby. I spotted her sitting in the entrance hall when I attended my first porcelain doll-making workshop, and I just had to have her – so my next workshop was devoted to making her. She has graced my dining-room for many years, and her classical beauty continues to amaze me. I’ve always loved porcelain dolls and sepia toning, so this image combines two of my passions!
Can you imagine… Being born into a world that buys and sells you like a piece of meat at a market? Being forced to work long hours that most adults cannot imagine? Being brain washed into thinking that your self worth is zero? Can you imagine… Never feeling the love of family or parents? Never knowing what it is to be free let alone have the hope or dream of freedom? Never being allowed the simplest of human rights? All of the earnings for the sales of items relating to “My daughter is an Asian slave child” parts one and two here on Red Bubble will be donated to the World Children’s Fund. I would like to thank my daughter Shelby for helping in the creating of this and the up-coming Part Two. Original is oil on canvas: 24” x 30”

Another beautiful morning of sunlight, fog, and wildlife. Patriot Lake is a man-made lake in Shelby Farms park. It is a very popular place in the morning, many people walk, jog, roller-blade, and bike around it’s entirety. When I reached this location there were about five times more geese floating in the water. Something rattled them and they took flight. I snapped off a few frames and this was the best. The fog against the sunlight is amazing and I was so very happy to have been able to capture such a beautiful moment. / /
I had driven by the walkway several times in the past two weeks and knew I had to find a capture here somewhere. I finally decided the time was right with the fog so heavy. I walked the path and took the right fork and decided this was the most pleasing. The fog adds an incredible amount of depth to the field. The fall colors are what make the composition complete, though. I get a very ethereal feel from this scene. One of my favorites.
This is Shelbi, / He went to the angels a fortnight ago, he was nearly totally blind, deaf and very arthritic, / we dont know his actual age but he was somewhere around the 16-17 years of age, old for a Sheltland Sheltie Sheepdog. / we got him from pearcedale pound about seven years ago after our other dog had passed away, we though he was not long with us four years ago when we brought Kobi.
This is another addition to my Custom Pet Portrait Series… Shelbi belonged to fellow RB’er Kristina K. and I asked if I might draw this portrait mostly to help preserve the memory of this beloved companion that traveled over the Rainbow Bridge…the other part was a thank you for all of the calendars and cards Kristina has purchased from my collection. An original Pastel, Prismacolor Pencil, Pen and Ink drawing. Drawn on card stock, bonded, acid free, low tooth artist drawing paper. I use a bonded paper with low or no tooth for the smooth blending abilities and so the pastels are not chewed up during the drawing process. Thank your for viewing my art. Hunting pheasants on the prairies of North Dakota with my brothers dog Shelby, we both decided we needed a break after a long hard push. I don’t know who was more tired her or me! Both our tongues were hanging out! Just shortly after this she did a beautiful point on a rooster and the game was on! Down the pheasant went and started running. She was all over the place but the bird finally stopped and she retrieved it! Truly they are “Man’s Best Friend” A side note for you hunters and non hunters out there. The dog is a Brittany, and the gun is a model 59 Winchester with a fiberglass barrel. Photographer / Robert Berry / Nikon D80 18-135 mm Nikkor Lense Best Viewed at full size!
1967 Shelby GT350 – a little custom here and there…
I was driving through historical downtown Waxahachie and saw this 1965 Custom Shelby Cobra sitting in front of an old gas station. I thought it would look great on a Tee. Best viewed larger
