Oil pastels on black A3 paper. / used a reference photo a wonderful friend took of me. thank you so much for that. / Classical style isn’t it. I’m enjoying oil pastels at the moment. I’m looking into blending techniques mostly. And yay! foreshortening! A lil. A girl full of hate falls in love too easily for her own good. kicking and screaming into paradise just to burn it down in an attempt to keep warm by a fire. she can hold back the tears but she can’t stop causing them. Oh how it hurts, more than ripping slowly at her own flesh, unstoppable by the numbing vodka that burns it’s way down her throat, keep swallowing, don’t breathe, maybe you’ll choke on it you stupid girl.
SHE DEVIL ENJOY…THANKS. MORE PAUL ROMANOWSKI ART…
A quick view of the outside of the building ,standing tall and defiant against the vandalism and damage that has attacked her inner sanctum. Hopefully one day this place could be recovered and the broken insides replaced, though i doubt it will happen. This place really is a beautiful place, and certainly something i will be making a point of visiting again when i am in the area to cover some of the rooms and locations i didn’t get time for on this occasion.

The Abbey Road album cover by The Beatles.
Crow serves as the gatekeeper to the void, the void being the formless world of spirit. Crow can travel between the spirit world and the phenomenal or physical world of reality. Crow’s black feathers retain elements of the substance of the void with their subtle, fluctuating iridescence. There are many stories from many cultures that talk about how Crow played an important role in the development and evolution of humanity…including the bringing of light out of the darkness. This painting depicts Crow in the between space of spirit and the physical world. I worked on this piece while at a painting residency at Vermont Studio Center in 2008. This is one of the first paintings that I felt really spoke directly to me and had a consciousness of its own. I believe all my paintings, when I am working on them, are alive in some way. But usually they simply resonate with the energy that I focus on when I paint them. This painting was unique and individual and had its own personality and energy independent of my own. I talked to this painting. She told me what she wanted. I had only to listen… (original painting: “Crow, She Brought Light”, acrylic on canvas, 30×30”) All artwork and text © Copyright 2009 DoAn Art (Antony Galbraith) unless indicated otherwise. This shot started out a long way from where I wanted it to be, but I’m happy with the end result. Originally I saw a girl wrapped in silk (yep, got that, lol) sitting on an old wooden bench (oh well) against a beautifully lit pale cream tuscan style rendered wall (nup). The closest I could find in this town of mine was this wall at the local pub, its blue, and the wall hanging thing is a rusty iron decoration. The bench was nasty, hard and aluminium. But it was a rainy day, (I froze my model) so the natural lighting was just soft enough to do something special in post prod. The ray of light isn’t really there, but with some multiply layers and dodging and burning, it transformed easily. Hope you like it!
I’ve always loved music, and had dreams of being a musician as a youngster, having created some of my own simple piano pieces and songs. Though life didn’t turn out quite as planned, my love of music still remains :) Stock credits: Model / Sheet music texture / Notes The background is one of my own images.
