  • This is acrylic and pastel on canvas card. While painting it I was thinking of a name for it. In my mind I heard the voice of William Shatner stating: “My friends; the new Excelsior.” And so, Excelsior was born.

Chris Pine portrayed the character in the 2009 Star Trek film, with Jimmy Bennett playing Kirk as a child.3 Other actors have portrayed the character in fan-created media,[5] and the character has been the subject of multiple spoofs and satires.6[8] Kirk has been called “the quintessential officer, a man among men and a hero for the ages”.[9]
