This photo was taken during a extreme low tide just after sunrise at Monkey Mia in Shark Bay Western Australia. You could walk out about 100 meters from the beach before you got to the water! The location of Monkey Mia is the only place on Western Australia where the sun rises over the ocean. / As you can see in this photo the sun has been blocked by the large cloud formation, but can be seen in the reflections off the wet sand. A 10 shot stitched panorama! Taken with my 20D And 17-40 f/4 L. Featured In: Australia! Infinite future chaos – “whats that?” i here you say, / its the way we shape our future by how we live today, / the way we live our lives has a knock on effect, / we should give this world of ours some love and respect. Freak weather, wars, global warming,hurricanes and nature dying, / destruction, rainforests dissapearing, children starving, children crying, / riots, warfare, guns, chemical waste, nuclear bombs and anarchy, / extinction of animals, genetics, clones, who is it down to, powers that be?. Just think of our children, how will they survive, what will they see?, / lets all make changes so they can be happy and free, / who knows what the future holds but its down to me and you, / im just thankful i wont be around and bet that you are too.

a shark exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC explaining something between life and death (it’s suspended in a huge tank of formaldehyde) / / / we were not allowed to take pictures, but the woman guarding the exhibit said we could take as many pictures as we wanted as soon as she went on break in 5 minutes, permitted we didn’t get caught by the next guard. i love rules

The Shark Bay Sunset Pelican Parade happens each evening, as the pelicans pack cruises close to the shoreline of Monkey Mia. Their dusk swim coincides with the return of the fishermen, who then clean their days catch on the beach. The pelicans approach in the hope of receiving a tidbit. Some see them as nuisances, but they are forever graceful and comical – and not shy when it comes to trying to snatch some fish! Taken at sunset in Monkey Mia, Shark Bay, Western Australia. Taken with a Canon 5D, 100-400mm L Series Lens @ 130mm, f5.6, 1/125th sec, ISO 1600, handheld. As is – the vignetting is natural, caused by the light subsiding around the bright sun. During this past week, unimaginable waves came crashing into the north shores of the Hawaiian islands. The surf was windy, and messy, and disorganized—not ridable for the great watermen of Hawaii. I happened to be in Sunset Beach, Oahu during the storm, and the sun only peeked through the clouds a couple of times, briefly. I was waiting. Here is my image.

This is a Digital Painting done with some vector drawing. / This painting was taken from Amanda Cotton’s photograph “Into the Mix”. however, there is NO photograph used in the art it self, it started off a blank file. These are Lemon sharks feeding off of bate tossed over board. / This was a very hard project for me as I have never done an underwater theme before nor have I ever painted a shark. I think ever since him and I met and started talking, I always thought to myself either “Dude, this guy would be an awesome dad” or “I want to be like him when I grow up.” He’s got a good heart, and the Universe often seems to just be after him… and that sucks. Tryin to keep a brotha DOWN! But yes. I’d have his back if he needed help, cause a big guy with a big heart who gets flooded with a ton of crap, needs a break every now and again with the help of his friends. More recently, he’s done something that really only further inspired me, and amplified my want to do this picture, as it felt so appropriate. Belic has amazing stregnth and determination when it comes to helping others, who’s not afraid to be himself or do what he thinks is right no matter how hard it is for him. Ya sounds a little cheesy, but ya know what? I more than respect that about him, I frickn love that about him. I look up to him in that aspect. :) I’ve had this idea stuck in my head for months, of Belic about to beat the shit out of a great white shark with dynamite and a pic axe. It’s a metaphor, to where the pic-axe represents effort, and the shark represents troubles. The dynamite doesn’t represent anything, it’s just dynamite to blow shit up. Pushed this thing out as soon as my schedule freed up, and got it done pretty quick. I experimented with a few things here, like the style for one. It’s a bit on the comic/illustrative side with some exaggerated lines. I was going for a little bit of dynamics and I tried to limit my colors, and I was also trying to work within a perfect-square composition. This entire style was inspired by an awesome artist, named Jared Moratis (Pop Monkey)... It’s very ‘skater-ish’ with the almost obnoxiously saturated colors and outlines. Love the style. Artfulreggie and IG_Kirk helped me out with this one with brainstorming. :)
