“Drifting away, we understood that nothing is as vital as nothingness. The void of the absolute. / The absolute of absurd. But we woke up, and we understood how high is the price of reality. Time. / Tangency. The dominated nothingness.” This is one of the 30 pieces that conform my installation “The Red Room”, done between February and June 2008 :)

a shark exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC explaining something between life and death (it’s suspended in a huge tank of formaldehyde) / / / we were not allowed to take pictures, but the woman guarding the exhibit said we could take as many pictures as we wanted as soon as she went on break in 5 minutes, permitted we didn’t get caught by the next guard. i love rules

Infinite future chaos – “whats that?” i here you say, / its the way we shape our future by how we live today, / the way we live our lives has a knock on effect, / we should give this world of ours some love and respect. Freak weather, wars, global warming, hurricanes and nature dying, / destruction, rainforests dissapearing, children starving, children crying, / riots, warfare, guns, chemical waste, nuclear bombs and anarchy, / extinction of animals, genetics, clones, who is it down to, powers that be?. Just think of our children, how will they survive, what will they see?, / lets all make changes so they can be happy and free, / who knows what the future holds but its down to me and you, / im just thankful i wont be around and bet that you are too.

This master piece, achieved with great discipline, made me so sensitive, I reached the hyperrealism to express the reality maximum moment Almost if I were watching through my mask about to reach the surface, Just on thinking to be facing a enormous mass designed to kill fills me with emotion. ___ originals at http://angel-ortiz.fineartamerica.com / oil on canvas 14×18 in. $2000 usd.

Full view definitely needed :) This one is a bit special for me. The image is inspired by my favourite RB poet girlinthestars and my favourite poem, in her amazing collection, titled Mermaid. Significant for me, but you will have to read the whole poem to find some meaning for yourself :) Inspired, my friend Simon Muirhead was kind enough, to let me have complete artistic freedom to use one of his latest photos Flat Rock. This photo is perfect as the background of the image and Simon has become a bit of an expert at these fantastic, slow-shutter speed photos. Check out his gallery! Here is the poem: / Mermaid You always thought of me as a / Mermaid / In a sea of sharks / You thought they were always looking at me / So you were protective / Then you thought I was looking at them / So you became possessive / You believed there was a part of me I hid / That longed to be free / But truly, I didn’t / You didn’t know I hated being doused in / Salt water / It never charmed me / I tasted it so many times before / I knew better You’d always say / You’re so beautiful / How could you want only me? And then you’d stare off / Making some untrue comment Leaving me in the dark / With sharks / Circling me / Intoxicated by my lonely scent I’m sure you’ve heard / I found the love of my life / In a stream ..::Photo Credit::.. / Background / Sky / Mermaid / Sailor / Fin

Painting – Oil On Canvas 100×100 cm. $4000 usd. original There is nothing like a fresh cozy morning. Watch as the light cruises through sea and sky, bathing the atmosphere with a warm gentle yellow interweave blue shadows on its way. Causes controversy to observe the shark roaming beneath the surface possibly in search of food.
