The Museum of Dust is completely, if inconstantly, surrounded by impenetrable forest. In places it comes right up to the building and scrapes and scratches on the windows. Wind and moonlight send monstrous shadows capering and cavorting across Cog’s bedroom wall. They seem to know all her secrets.
This is a great example of where a picture tells a thousand words. In this hand stitched sham, I collaborated with my husband Charlie to integrate many fabrics to create this fantasy montage. Working with fabrics to create montage art also is functional art that can be used as home fashions that are elegant and vividly colorful. The art form of designing handmade shams, pillows and throws is a time consuming and very thoughtful endeaver. Selecting fabrics is a very creative and imaginative endeaver imagination to produce these wonderful pieces of what I refer to as fabric art. The whole is more than the sum of its parts when the finished product is ready to be photographed. The lens work and cropping has sharpened my photography skills. Shared interests that continue to evolve into this surprising collaboration keep relationshipsFab vital and very much alive in a society where divorce is sadly more the norm than the exception. I looked at the final product and thought that it symbolically tells a visual story of our relationship when two creative souls collaborate using “The Power of Two,” a song written by the Indigo Girls.
I will never forget the day I met the man who rewrote the definition of maliciousness, Lord Quagmire
My husband Charlie and I collaborate on choosing fabrics and integrating them into a montage of fabric pieces and appliques. Photographically I shoot a section of his work and enhance the details creating an art piece of a different character. Given the colors and intricate patterns, this piece reminded me of an elegant Japanese fan. I took several photos in this series in addition to other photos of fabric art including duvets, aprons shams, pillow cases, clothing, tote bags, pajamas and home decor. In the future I will photograph the entire piece when Charlie has his exhibition. If you have any questions about pricing of these beautiful and useful pieces please contact me. A percentage of all proceeds for my photography and Charlie’s creations are contributed to our wildlife and animal charities. As always I am interested in your projections on my “rorschach” abstracts. /
After photographing Charlie’s Shams, I like to experiment with the patterns and color to reinvent the fabric into what resembles an abstract painting. I choose what part of the piece would lend itself to my exploring fabric art as function and beauty. I see figures dancing in a very graceful and surreal landscape, possibly underwater. It almost has the feel that the beautiful movements of the shadow dancers could be underwater in a cave where they can breathe in this abstract surreal photograph. I always see great images in the pieces I choose to work on and will be doing more experimentation with recreating our stack of many fabrics to give the phograph a surreal and painterly effect. I see on the very top of this photograph on the upper left corner a graphic picture of a boy. This was not intended;however when I finish a piece I am often surprised by what appears. Given how small the icon is, I was caught by surprise since it looked like I had imported a photograph to this fabric painting. i hope to do more work transforming one media into another. Like my rock and bark photos, there are so many images wihin this piece if we take the time to look. Fabric designs offer me a great way to enhance my visual perceptual skills using another medium. / Sally Omar, an eloquent and brilliant poet on redbubble wrote a poem to pair with “Shadow Dancers.” Her words are intuitive and lyrical and the shadow dancers are moving to the rhythm of her words. / Shadow Dancers no one can see / They dance only for me / In my mind in a special place / I see them as clearly as my face / Dancing to a native drum / Swaying one by one / Fire burning brightly on the ground / So much native sound / There are men in headdress / They won’t let me rest / Chanting softly all the time / And singing in mystical rhyme / The women in colorful wonder / Each dancing asunder / A dance so marvelous / Bringing them happiness /

The Karma for me and I believe lots of other Rugby League fans from around the world. The recent history of the Bulldogs can at best be described as colourful, and 2008 finally delivered the clubs just deserves. BTW, the “wooden spoon” is a prize you win for coming last in Rugby League.
The wild diving in the Musandam Peninsula is considered the best in the world. / 200 metres from this rock islet lies the infamous Telegraph Island ( pictured below ). / In the 19th century Telegraph Island was home to a British telegraphic relay station. / The absolute isolation of this island, tucked round a bend of this remote fjord, drove many of the workers to madness. The saying “round the bend” continues to this day. / / My short film Musandam Peninsula

No matter where you go in the world you always find a football pitch and Oman is no exception! Under the shadow of the mighty ‘Jebel Shams,’ the ‘Mountain of Sun’., a pitch has been cleared on a small plateau area. Boys trek from kms around to play., sometimes they are dropped off by the school bus for a quick game, before walking home. When I was there the temperature was reaching the early 50oC!.
