  • First snow this year Photo made in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands – Crown Domain Het Loo Where I live, the snow didn’t stay longer than a few minutes, so I had to travel a few hours to make these pics… The public transport was all messed up because of the first winter-weather, but brought me finally into winter-wonderland… I think this journey was well worth the effort :) ... I’ve been spending a long time at this particular spot, trying to capture the sun beams casted on the misty grassland and among the ancient oaks… not hard to sense the sacredness of a place like this…

  • This image was made Pemaquid lighthouse. Other than Portland headlight this is probably the most photographed lighthouse in the state Main. / It’s a very interesting photographic destination and I go there frequently. My way of approaching the lighthouse is a little different. I try not to photograph actual lighthouse. But I try and make images that illustrate the effect of the light house on the environment or pieces of the lighthouse. They areuncountable number of great pictures of this lighthouse. So why try and make when more. It is so recognizable that no matter how small peace of the lighthouse If I photograph Its shadow or whatever. People immediately recognized the location. Butt they see it from a different point of view. / This is a three shot HDR, in Photoshop, converted to black-and-white, and a blue layer mask added with soft light Nikon 200 f-stop 16 shutter speed 1/100 focal length 35 ISO 100 / January 2009

  • This image was made in Sheepscott, Maine. On the edge of the Dire River, this is a tidal river. The fresh water freezes faster than the salt water, so during flood tides large blocks of ice are deposited along the shoreline. Which creates these Extract rocks shapes. There never the same from year to year, so each year I have a new set of abstract forms to work with. / This is a four shot HDR image, worked in Photoshop. The image was converted to a grayscale, with a blue layer added and soft light. / Nikon 200 focal length 28 ISO 100

  • One of these days I am going to get the kind of photo of Bryce Canyon National Park that I am always trying to capture. In four visits, I spent so much time in Zion that I arrived at Bryce as the sun was getting low. My wife and I set aside a whole day to see Bryce on our lengthy Christmas vacation this past year to find a snowed in Byrce Canyon and frigit -7F with a brisk wind, and only two viewpoints opened.   • The Livingston Range of the Canadian Rockies forms a dark, unbroken wall of snow covered rock, facing the prairies of Alberta, stretching north from the entrance to Crowsnest Pass.
