One must suffer for your art correct? Well this might fit, I headed out this cold December dawn a year ago with temps at -5 and windchill at -30. A bit chilly and I learned that if you take a glove and grab a metal tripod leg your hand will stick at least for a few moments. I hope the image was worth it! The frozen surface of Mud Lake just after dawn one cold winter morning. The long shadows of the tree stumps making eerie lines across the ice and skiff of snow on top.

This is my latest little foray into the world of IR photography.. After looking through my gallery I decided that I desperately needed to get out and take some more shots, especially infrared ones.. / This was taken down at the same place that my Deserted World image was taken. / It was unfortunately the only IR shot that worked out today because I stupidly forgot to set the custom WB before heading out and didnt realise til I had finished all my shots so I then quickly rushed this one before heading home. / I hope you like it and as with all my work comments are more than welcome, whether complimenting or critiquing. A winter panorama shot of the valley Valldal on the west coast of Norway, taken during the christmas holiday. Stitched together of 15 pictures. Post-processing: / Stitched some pictures together, obviously. Fixed the contrast with curves, added a lighter curve only on the lower part as the valley was pretty dark, and the mountain tops really light. Added two black and white layers set to hard light (140%), mainly on the sky and the mountain tops.

One of those bitter cold mornings where you don’t want to be out but the light calls you. A frozen dawn, where the long shadows on simple grass become long and dramatic.

...yes, this is my FIRST painting I ever did!!!! / Zombie came home & gave me a bag full of painting materials, long time ago… Brushes, canvases, acrylics, water containers things that I’ve never seen in my life!!!! So I took the one canvas and the brushes and I started to paint for the first time in my life. / Do you want to know how many hours I was painting this? 8 hours!!!!!! My neck was pain & the result was making me so pleased and happy – I wanted to paint more! / It’s still my favourite painting. It means everything to me and really owe it to Zombie. The weather for this years Winter Magic Festival was a bit of everything. But even though there was rain and fog and it was cold… it didn’t stop the crowds from enjoying themselves! Late in the afternoon the mist started to roll in and it was getting dark.. a few storeholders were starting to pack up but the street was still full of people. I took a photo at the time because I really liked the atmosphere and then when I had my week away recently, I let myself start to play with it! This is the result so far… I think I would like to try a few other ideas too… : )) Mixed Media on canvas paper. / 40.5×60
