This door detail was photographed in Avanos, a small town in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. The bright colors and old wood of houses and doors in these small towns are often beautiful and always intriguing. The splintered wood, tooled brass lock and handle, and encroaching shadow give this piece a sense of mystery for me.

An IR shot. Fiddled with this one in Paintshop to get the blue. Let me know what you think please!! / Check out the Christmase version here

Couldn’t get the blue as bright as in Sea Chant ot Blue Jetty , but I think it’s still a nice blue. / These were taken at Belmont, Newcastle, NSW, Australia. / It was a really bright and rather warm day – hence I had a bit of trouble with the white balance – that’s why the blue is not as bright.

Part of a (now not so short) series of images taken in an authentic and derelict church manse (Abbey) in Glebe, Sydney. It was located on the same piece of land as the original Church (which was also disused). These shots were taken during two visits – the second and last visit spooked me so much I’ll not be going back…the stairwell was just incredible – its on the left (this is downstairs).

This was a curious little fellow on the beach of Morro Bay, California. But as he was moving so fast, only one shot turned out sharp…
