Camera : Sony A-100 / Date and time taken : 25-28 November, 2007. / Focal length : 20mm / F-Number : Various / ISO : 400 / Exposure Time : Various / Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada The original concept for this image was to have a car moving from headlights in the distance into clear sight in the foreground while transitioning between two different times of day. I later decided to expand that to three different times of day and you can see the results. This was one hard piece to put together. I used three different backgrounds taken in the afternoon, twilight and night (respectively). I then took images of the car at those three different times at different places on the road and blurred them together mainly using the blur and smudge tools. The shadow of a person on the left is there intentionally but I did originally think of taking it out. However, this image was in a series dealing with the theme of a journey and I thought the shadow of a person added a nice emotional element to the picture. I’m pretty proud of how this one turned out. Let me know if you think so too.

Rather odd mini manhole covers inscribed with the word TREE dot the streets down at the Rocks in Sydney, presumably for access to tree roots for watering. I photographed some and added text and a tree shadow using photoshop. / With a nod to Magritte, who painted The Treachery of Images 1928 with text “Ceci n’est pas une pipe” translated to “This is Not a Pipe”, I made this image as a protest about urban sprawl and deforestation of native bushland. Cities are often built on the most fertile, abundant soils with largest rainfall. / / Photoshop and Photography by Talisa

I love night. I always have. The light, or lack of it, that changes the nature of things around you, making familiar different, unfamiliar threatening. I love its colors, subdued and shifted as they may be, diverse grades of darkness, wicked shadows and reflections. It is the period of the day when I am alert and creative, when I love to read, listen to music or work on some of my images. It’s not a secret that food tastes better after daylight fades out. And here you have it, the façade of an old Wellington building, painted by the mixture of artificial light sources and magical bites and bytes. Good enough for me, even better for my photo collection.

This pair of young buskers were heading into the city centre to find a pitch and for a brief moment, it looked like they were herding the crowd to hear them play.. they were not that bad when I got to hear them later. York is lucky in most of it’s buskers are actually quite talented, even the bad ones are that bad they become good. Taken on Church Street with Parliament Square on the left. Converted in to black and white
a collection of shots taken around the City of York in North Yorkshire, of candid moments showing how people live today in this historical city. And yet people will be people and the city just becomes the back drop
