  • Camera : Sony A-100 / Date and time taken : 25-28 November, 2007. / Focal length : 20mm / F-Number : Various / ISO : 400 / Exposure Time : Various / Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada The original concept for this image was to have a car moving from headlights in the distance into clear sight in the foreground while transitioning between two different times of day. I later decided to expand that to three different times of day and you can see the results. This was one hard piece to put together. I used three different backgrounds taken in the afternoon, twilight and night (respectively). I then took images of the car at those three different times at different places on the road and blurred them together mainly using the blur and smudge tools. The shadow of a person on the left is there intentionally but I did originally think of taking it out. However, this image was in a series dealing with the theme of a journey and I thought the shadow of a person added a nice emotional element to the picture. I’m pretty proud of how this one turned out. Let me know if you think so too.

  • there is a well beaten path across the macintyre river. Actually there well beaten path’s all over mission island. Its a great place to get great shots of deer and wild life in general with out having to drive far out of town. the only thing is that being so close to town there are usually lots of people around which isn’t so bad but the problem is that these deer have been fed for so long by humans that they are getting use to them and have no problems going up to cars and even people and taking food right out of their hands. This might sound all cute and nice and all but people have to remember that these deer are wild animals and should not be hand fed. If you want to leave food and watch them eat from a distance that would be a better idea then hand feeding them. I would hate to see these animals destroyed for attacking someone who couldn’t realize that wild animals are exactly that. Wild! Someone will get a deer beat down eventually. When this happens I will have no sympathy for you. I just hope I can be there to take pictures.
