I’ve been playing with this shot for way too long. I’ve done about 8 versions and can’t decide which one, if any, I like best. I’ve looked at the other 7 versions and this one is definately the best, actually by a long way so I’m glad I persisted with it…I think I’m happy with it now….and besides my limited photoshopping skills have run out – I wouldn’t know what else to do with it anyway….lol

This beautiful stormy scene presented itself as I was overlooking the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. (If you look closely, you can see the Kissing Camels near the lower right-hand corner.) Hard to imagine it’s in the middle of a huge city. Update 20-June: Exciting news! This photo was chosen to be published in Gaia – The Living Planet, a book compiled of imagery and poetry from within the RB community. I’m so excited to receive my copy in the mail soon!

Another one from my recent trip to Skye. It took me a while to process this one, but I’m glad I spent the time doing it. Taken on the beach at Elgol on the same day as the other similar one I posted. Different composition, same idea – I wanted to get a horizontal shot as I very rarely take them. I was drawn to this particular spot by the different coloured rocks, and the big rock in the bottom left corner which leads you round the edge of the water and back into the mountains again. Canon Eos 5D, 24mm TS-E at f22, ISO 100 for 8 seconds with a 1.2 ND and 0.6 ND grad

Nikon D300 with the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens; UV and CP filters; hand held, shutter 1/100, aperture f/10.0, exp.0.00, iso 500. Post processing included hdr at +/- 2 evals in Photomatix from a single hand held image. A very faint amount of texture layer added in Photoshop. Old Sailboat tied up in front of B shed in Fremantle, I loved the light and sky as the sun was going down. A quick capture yesterday, layers added only for colour toning. Levels, burning, dodging etc played with a bit. Camera – Nikon D90 / 18-55mm
