  • Tucked amongst the trees by the ocean, “The Shack” sums up the essence of the Cocos Islands for me. A hut for surfers, a deck chair in the shade, warm breeze, driftwood, surf and sand between my toes. Well maybe a few mozzies too! Here exists a culture hard to find elsewhere; one of respect, where you can leave your surfboard and towel and come back to it a day later, a month later. • GOOD FRIDAY MAMMATUS / Photo best viewed large. / / / / / / FEATURED WORKS / “GOOD FRIDAY MAMMATUS” was FEATURED in the group #1 ARTISTS OF RED BUBBLE / / / I took this photo of Mammatus on a Good Friday before Easter in Ashland, Kentucky. The clouds first started rolling in and looked like fluffy white marshmallows. Then in front of the setting sun they dramatically began to change colors. They went from snow white to shades of silvers, pinks, grays, blues and even purples! The colors were quite striking and dramatic; these clouds were nothing like anything I had ever seen before! For a few minutes they turned very dark, and it was a sight I will never forget!! These amazing mammatus clouds lasted about 45 minutes before they exited my area. / / / We were under our second tornado watch of the year, and I found out later that I was standing right under the anvil of a severe thunderhead and that a tornado could have formed at any moment! Luckily for me it didn’t, and I was able to capture some phenomenal, amazing clouds. I can’t quite put it into words other than to say, “I closed my eyes for a few seconds and felt like I had been kissed on my cheek by an angel.” This was one time in my life that I will always remember!!! / / / This photograph of “GOOD FRIDAY MAMMATUS” has won National awards, been published in an Anthology, and has been shown on National television. This image is also featured in several websites and blogs throughout the USA and Australia for educational purposes. / / /

  • MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD / Best viewed large. / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was FEATURED in the group COUNTRY ROADS/AROUND THE WORLD / / / / “MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ROAD” was FEATURED in the group NATURAL COLOR AND LIGHT / / / This is a recent photo of my favorite country road! It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. / / The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. / / At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road. It is a breath-taking view from the very top, and this is truly my favorite country road!.. / / / To read and learn more about this special country road, / go to:COUNTRY ROAD

  • Walter is one half of the German Electro Duo, Booka Shade. At live gigs Arno plays digital drums and revvs the crowd up. People go nuts. Walter sits smilingly behind the synth/keys/decks . Most assossciate Booka Shade with Arno’s crazy drumming, but we all know the real magic is the behind the scenes production and live editing of Walter. The synth keys are thus placed in their rightful spot at the heart of Booka Shade.

  • This is Mistletoe, Snowdrop’s predecessor. She was a remarkable little cat who shared a huge part of my life, and died in my arms, just two months before her 21 st birthday. She was more like a little dog, fetching a ball, walking on a lead and harness, and travelling everywhere with me in the car. We had a large pond, and she never touched any of the frogs, nor did she ever harm a bird in her life. They got so used to her that they would hop across her path without a care in the World. I don’t know if anyone else can see it, but she also looks quite like Snowdrop. When we found Snowdrop, and having discovered that they were similar in so many ways, it turns out – that after counting back, Snowdrop must have been conceived on the same day as Mistletoe died. I don’t know much about re-incarnation, but it does make me wonder ! Anyway, this is my favourite photograph of her. “I dropped a tear in the ocean, and when they find it I will stop loving you – only then”. ‘Mistletoe in the Window’ won first place in the challenge ‘Big Meows & Little Meows in ‘The Animal Photography Group’. It also won first place in ‘Cats in the Window’ in ‘The Cats & Dogs Group’. I am very touched, and grateful to those people who voted for her. This is Snowdrop /
