In the main street of our town is a little old cottage, which has crooked windows and seems to be sinking away into the ground – I love it. Textures added in Photoshop. Taken with Ricoh GRII compact. This is the sad story of a once wealthy Parisian Lady that has fallen on hard times, but she still likes to get out on Sunday afternoons and stroll the boulevard. Decked out in her shabby dress and her sad old tattered parisol. Such nobility of the mind but she has no idea her world has drastically changed. Thanks for looking. Seth

I had passed this house many times while driving and had always vowed to take a photo of it, but never got round to it. This house is next to a main road, and I thought that night time would be the best time to get a shot of it. I got there at about 11pm, and it was very creepy there at that time, even though there were cars going past. For this shot, I set up a tripod and had my flash off camera. This is a long exposure (20 or 30 seconds) and I used the ‘painting with light’ technique. I activated the shutter remotely then walked past the front of the house firing the flash multiple times. I have done some editing work in Lightroom and Photoshop to really bring out the creepy quality of this decaying home. The house is at the top of Main South Road, O’Halloran Hill, South Australia.

With childlike wonderment I explore the perimeter of this abandoned home, peering in the window panes, many which have been busted out. The door is padlocked, to keep me out. Curiousity burns inside me as I imagine the lives of the people that once called this place home. The door is my time machine, allowing me to travel back in time. How I would love to visit my grandparents when they were young, and learn first hand about their lives before I was ever born. This abandoned house can be found on Hwy 412 in Gordonsburg, TN.
