The beautiful waterfall close to the village of Pontneddfechan in the Neath Valley. This place really does look at its best with an autumnal backdrop. This panorama made up of 5 images stitched together in CS3, giving almost 180 degrees angle of view.

The view upstream of this, my favourite waterfall last autumn. HDR to bring out all the colour and detail of this beautiful place. Located close to Ystradfellte in the Brecon Beacons.
There is a path that goes behind thie waterfall, it is closed at present though due to the rocks being unstable. There was a bit too much water in the river when I visited so I will head back there later in the year.

Sgwd yr Eira means ‘Fall of the snow’. This ancient gorge can be found in the ‘Waterfall Country’, Brecon Beacons national park, south Wales. The ‘Waterfall Country’ is situated in a triangle formed by the villages of Hirwaun, Ystradfellte, and Pontneddfechan. It includes the head waters of the rivers Nedd, Mellte, Pyrddin and Hepste. These rivers drain the old red sandstone mountain ranges of the Fan’s in the north and travel south through the deep V shaped wooded valleys the rivers have formed in the carboniferous limestone of the southern belt of the national park. Over 200 special species of mosses, liverworts, and ferns can be found in this area.
Downstream from one of my favourite places in the whole wide world! / What a shame it is such a pain in the bum to get to. / I’ve been twice now and almost keeled over both times due to the killer walk (relatively speaking, i’m not at all fit) Enjoy
