Hi, Ok I am a first timer so be gentle with me. Very excited and motivated by Red Bubble – great concept, from marketing, publicity to the bringing together of a global creative community, so love it and its all happening only a few kilometers from here – gotta love Melbourne!! (and globally of course). I draw, paint, collage, write, sew and sculpt. Anyone want to tell me of their experiences with Red Bubble – c’mon help out a newbie. Lisa

Hi everyone, / It has been a while sing I wrote anything here. I have been thinking about it for awhile about this. I have really been encourage by the kind words I received here at RB about my photos and have been even more surprised to have people who like my photos enough to purchase them. I have been very honoured. Although, it was a very modest number of sales. / Photography is certainly my hobby and I thought if my hobby can earn me a little money perhaps I can share it with the people who are more in need. For all those who purchase my photos, I have put the proceed towards a purchase of a sewing machine (through an organisation called CNEC PI) to help an african woman in Congo or Rwanda to earn a living and to sustain her family. May be we can change the world one sewing machine at a time. So thank you everyone, you have made an important contribution to someone that we may never know and may never met. / Thank you also for all your comments about my work. Those comments certianly encouraged me to be more creative and to use it perhaps to help others. PS: If I make more sales, I am considering a pair of Goat to provide milk, cheese and meat for a community. Apparently they breed easily, therefore can be a good source of income as well as nutrition to a community. This will be a project in bangladesh through an organisation called TEAR australia. / Thanks to you all

So for the last few months ive been trying to figure out what I want to do with my sewing. Seeming as though I did the fashion tafe course and all it seemed like a bit of a waste not to use it (even just a little bit). I finally desided i want to do one off (or may be two offs of some) bags. Have a few designs and have different fabrics for them. Id been struggling to get fabrics at a decent cost and now I think it may finally be possible!!! Heres to hoping it works out for more then just the carry bags (that seem to be almost a definate now!! YAY!!! FINALLY!!! One very happy Peta heading off to sew! Love Me!

As well as 2D digital and traditional art I love to sculpt and sew. / Somehow RedBubble doesn’t seem so suited to such images though so I keep all my 3D work on Flickr. I love to make my own toy designs and have even written a few sewig patterns. / My favorite thing to make recently has been puppets, I’ve made around 30 this year, ranging from basic hand puppets to full body mouth puppets. As a result of all this sewing, I end up with more toys than I can keep! ^^“ / Although it’s hard to part with them, I’ve put some up for sale on Esty and since it’s almost Christmas, if you’re interested, please check out my Etsy store. / http://www.shirokuro.etsy.com Even if you don’t want to buy, check out all my puppets and toys on my Flickr and see the other dimension to my work! ;) / http://www.flickr.com/photos/shiro_ko/

We made samples to put in our folders today for future reference of different stitches and hems, it was exciting getting back onto an industrial over locker they are so smooth to work with, we are making our skirt next week and i get to use this amazing hawaiian vintage linen fabric i bought. / Its nice ive made some friends in the class, and its all feeling a bit like school, just without the bitchiness because all the girls are there to learn and have fun.. what a pleasant change! / We got our art packs today, with awesome water colours in them and art books and fancy pencils, and some sort of japanese paints, all for fashion illustration. I am now a proud owner of a mac, and i must say..it fustrated the hell out of me at first, but now im getting the hang on it, i keep going to right and left click on my mouse and nothing happens..i need to train my brain to use mac’s favourite thing to do ‘shortcuts’ The other week, we wen’t up in my brothers 64 impala to the Nostalgia drags at willowbank. we went around 4pm so it was still hot but that soon died off and we were watching the drags as the sun wen’t down , and go some good photos of the sunset. Now with the mac, i can record vid / eos of my doing covers of songs with my guitar and maybe put them up on you tube, just as a bit of fun. get some feedback hopefully positive haha and remind myself how to use garage band. my biggest new years resolution is to write some songs and get them recorded. / I have already achieved and done some of my new years things on my list.. proud / fashion course, burlesque dancing class, starting on art, using proper 1950’s materials to make my jewellery and changing my designs to be totally original. My stall for Garter Belts and Gasoline is going to be amazing, i have never been proud of the appearance of my trade stalls they look messy and a bit cheap ha! but that didn’t stop people buying stuff. Its going to cost a bit to get it how i want it, but it will be a permanent looking shop that i can pack up and take with me to every show so it fits neatly into my marquee. / I have a really good sign i take to shows so my stall needs to match, i have to sew up stall table covers on my industrial machine. I always leave things to the last minute, but thats how things turn out good with me! The tcb lucky 7 party was on the day after Nostalgia drags it was a boilingggg hot day, but a huge array of awesome cars came out to show there support for matt blacks mag, it’s a really awesome all australian kustom kulture magazine and he takes all the photos of the pin ups featured in it. We gave sheri a lift to the show gosh i adore that girl we can giggle at the most random stuff and we have our inside jokes and we only have to look at each other to know what on earth i am smirking about we spent the day catching up with the gang and met a few new people to., bought an awesome tiki sticker from black fridays..which gave me the idea of turning the fairmont into a beach style cruiser with and awesome colour of sunset on the roof, its going to look hot! arrr i can’t wait! eeeeee!!! my dad is getting into the painting of it, he really enjoys customising cars, especially with all the cool colours he can make up at his paint shop. On march 21st i have to vote and honestly, i don’t know who to vote for..they all suck in my opinion, this is my first time of voting and it just happens to be on the same day as the tattoo show i have to sell at, i don’t know how im going to find a place to go vote at before the show starting at 9am. fun fun and crazy updates since my old computer cracked, damn you harvey norman

I just spent a significant amount of time looking up fabrics, on ebay and other places, as I have decided I’d like to properly learn how to sew and make my own clothes. Then, I got to Red Bubble, and the Home Page looked like a fabric store! I took a screenshot of it, in the hopes that I’ll add it to this, later on in life, to make everything more interesting. However, as one way of doing it clogs up Red Bubble and confuses me, and the other way involves me remembering my username and other login info for one image hosting site or another, that is looking unlikely to happen. ........................................................................................................................................................ / ........................................................................................................................................................ / And, then it did happen: ........................................................................................................................................................ / ........................................................................................................................................................ I am considering, as a way of cutting costs on fabrics and maximizing my wardrobe, making some tank style blouses that are reversible. Not as in by turning them inside out, but, just by turning them around. Come to think of it, that would work with sheath dresses, too. Think about it! I could make a lovely brown dress jacket with a rusty orange trim, right? Then, I could make a dress that can be worn in either direction that has a rusty orange floral print on one side, and the same brown as the jacket on the other side. Then, I could have a mostly brown front showing to the world with a floral print behind, or vice versa. For reasons of aesthetics, I shall refrain from speaking of my behind as mostly brown. Whoops! Okay, it would work better with the tank top, idea! Because, that way, the back would never be showing, since I’d be wearing the jacket! I think that’d be pretty cool and a real spacesaver, since I could fit 4 tops in the space of two! And, the reason it would save money, of course, is that I’d only need half as much of the fancier fabric to make the top, and the other side could be made from something cheaper but that would still go with the outfit. Of course, as I really know very little about sewing, at this point, I will probably end up making a thousand mistakes, without trying to get all fancy. So, I should probably just buy the cheap fabric and do my best, to start with. After that, it’s chains for straps, two different colors, beadwork, and weirdness! Woo hoo! ................................................................................................................................................... / ................................................................................................................................................. That’s right! I’m back, and still thinking on fashion choices. Dig this green checked embroidered silk: I think it would go lovely with any of these choices for tops: Some of which would also go, very lovely, with this beauty: / Then, there are things like this: I’d love to make a jacket with that on the back! I’d, also, love to cover an entire bedroom wall with it! Or, maybe this one, instead: Imagine! Now, can anyone tell me what a “fat quarter” is, in fabric speak? !

This time to the Hosts and members of the group ‘EXCEPTIONAL EKPHRASIS Artwork’; for featuring my ’ history – all stitched up ’ piece which tells you about ‘THE KINGS SHILLING’, something which I read somewhere an awful long time ago and didn’t know, but which caught my eye never-the-less encouraging me to share. The EEG group, is the first here I know of to branch out in this form of art, and so I thank ths group for this as I was considering removing my stitched items from my selection of pictures shown… Indeed art can be expressed in so very many forms but it’s beauty and relevance truly lies in ‘the eye of the beholder’... My thanks again to those who pass through and of course all those who continually support my poetry and art.

i have agreed to make costumes for my daughter’s dance group. 17 costumes. I have said yes -to more graphic work, more furniture, more painting…..more 100km mountain bike races…....more cake (eating of).......more running…....i seem to be unable to say NO to anything. actually i am very proud of myself for saying NO to running another 100km rteam unning race with a friend i ran with last year in the Oxfam trailwalker as he was unbearable. So, i was strong. Once. I found a lot of groups on this site today i didn’t know existed -so i have just uploaded vegie paintings. Today i finished off painting number 520. / That doesn’t include any graphic works -just straight out subject paintings. I will have to also u;load more Je suis girls into another group called Painted ladies. Then there’s a 2 wheel Group that i could put soome of my cycling graphics into. just takes a lot of time and i’ll get into trouble for “wasting’ it (time, that is). / I have graphics to do for a few days and then back onto the boats.

wow, so its been a while since I’ve had this creative urge, but I don’t seem to be able to put away the sewing machine at the moment. Busy doing machine embroidary on paper and making gift cards. can feel collages and even some decoupage coming on…...like I said, its a full on creative tsunami hitting me, not that I am complaining. Its like heaven. So I’m wondering if I can be listing my stuff here on redbubble, everything seems to be more 2 dimensional. I love my painting, but its just not where my fingers are heading at the moment. So not trying to neglect my redbubble, but just taking an hiatus until the next wave brings the painting out in me.
