  • The Existential Divide / The more observational of you will remember I put this up awhile ago. And it’s back, slightly different, added text and white not black. I worked on a version with some more emphasis on text woven through it after some people I trust gave some advice. However I went back to a slightly more simplified version as I think that it really shouts on it’s own. That the crisp stark iconic impression of a barcode combined with the ever-so-recognisable, and yet never actually seen in this way, map of the world, cause more avenues of thought than one can reasonably handle without a stiff drink. / But now I’m doing that weird ranting thing about my own work which I normally try and avoid, I like it, and really that’s all that fucking matters. Where’s the whiskey?

  • “Seven Swallows Sitting” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © A family of Australian Woodswallows perched tightly together on a wire preening each other against a background of bright blue sky. Bowen, Queensland. “The swallow, bonny birdie, comes sharp / twittering o’er the sea, / And gladly is her carol heard for the sunny / days to be; / She shares not with us wintry glooms, / but yet, no faithless thing, / She hunts the summer o’er the earth with / wearied little wing.”

  • The Seven Sisters are a series of chalk cliffs that stretch between Birling Gap and Cuckmere Haven, under care of the National Trust. The chalk cliffs are continuously eroded by the English Channel and form part of the South Downs in East Sussex, between the towns of Seaford and Eastbourne and within the Seven Sisters Country Park. The cliffs have been occasionally used in film and television as a stand-in for the more famous white cliffs of Dover, most famously featuring at the beginning of the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. In the foreground are the Coastguard Cottages, first built in 1818 by the Navy, being the officer’s house of the Customs and Excise watch. In 1840, they became a Coastguard station watching over the busy shipping in the Channel. World War II saw them occupied by the Army with Cuckmere Haven being heavily fortified against the potential of German assault forces landing there. Cuckmere came under frequent attack by bombers and fighter planes, and many soldiers lost their lives whilst defending the shoreline. I have been fortunate to sell a “matted print” of this image to a mystery buyer through the Redbubble site. Thank you to the buyer, whoever you are Shot taken with a Olympus Camedia D-545 Zoom point and shoot camera

  • I had to go back and take another shot of this little waterfall while the yellow Aspen leaves were still reflecting off the water. I usually don’t like taking photos of waterfalls unless it’s an overcast day but this time a sunny day worked in my favor. This little waterfall is in a hard to get to area of Cheyenne Canyon, which is near the famous Seven Falls, and Helen Hunt Falls in Colorado Springs. Canon XTi f/22 18mm(18-55mm) 13 secs. * /

  • Gerroa is an idyllic village at the Kiama end of Seven Mile Beach on the south coast of New South Wales … their sunset on Tuesday (6 January 08) was aided by smoke haze from bushfires in the Morton National Forest. After a day in which temperatures reached 40 degrees celsius and beyond, there were plenty of relaxed holiday-makers still enjoying the ambience, the breeze and the spectacular skies. • Vecona, corset and masks. Always with the number 7. I was wanting the popular cabbage roses of the Victorian, but went with something more stylized. One pen was harmed in the making of this piece. ha ha Is that wrong to say? I do not care. ;) My piece for the Victoriandustrial groups challenge for the Masquerade. 8×10.5 / Ink. • Aharrrrr! Jim-kitty! Here is the noble Pirate Cat, his legs taken from him by a particularly vicious pike off the Isle of Dogs, he sails on, with his trusty squid Archibald. Unbeknownst to Pirate Cat, Archibald isn’t so much a trusty squid as a squid with some of its legs caught in his ship’s rudder, but over time he has grown fond of Pirate Cat and secretly quite enjoys travelling with him.

  • Thank you for viewing.

  • This view is featured in the last scene of the movie “Attonement” A 3 Shot HDR Processed in Photomatix Pro / / Seven Sisters Country Park / Found at the point where the South Downs meets the sea, the Sisters were created when ancient rivers cut valleys into the chalk, creating seven peaks. Haven Brow, the highest of them at 253 feet (77 metres), stands majestically to the west of her other sisters who in order are called Short Brow, Rough Brow, Brass Point, Flagstaff Point, Baily’s Brow and Went Hill Brow. Under the sea at the foot of the cliffs are a number of gullies and ridges – varied marine life such as sea anemones, snails, and sponges can be found there. Now part of the Heritage Coast, an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and also a ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’, the beauty of the area will be protected for generations to come The area has a long and interesting history, including some fascinating shipwrecks, which you can discover on a series of shorewalks. SSCP is a great place to explore on foot, by bicycle or by canoe, particularly along the spectacular meanders of the Cuckmere River.

  • That is one of the great difficulties in experiencing the unconscious—that one identifies with it and becomes a fool. You must not identify with the unconscious; you must keep outside, detached, and observe objectively what happens…. it is exceedingly difficult to accept such a thing, because we are so imbued with the fact that our unconscious is our own – my unconscious, his unconscious, her unconscious – and our prejudice is so strong that we have the greatest trouble disidentifying. • We walked past these two gentlemen as they were passing in the opposite direction, I heard them say something along the lines of “they don’t know what’s happened”, I made nothing of it. My friends and I were laughing amongst ourselves about something or other, it was only when we reached the top of next cliff that we saw the helicopter ambulance and climbers abseiling down the cliff.. I looked back and snapped this shot as they passed over the hill behind us. Photo was taken from Beachy Head looking back towards Birling Gap, Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK. • The view from the end of Platform 1 at Seven Bridge railway in Bridgnorth,Shropshire. The engine was just about to start it’s journey and created this wonderful half view through the smoke and steam Converted into a pinhole black and white Featured by the kind hosts of Tone It Down! Group

  • A 3 shot HDR processed in Photomatix Pro with circular PS filter used Birling Gap is four kilometres west of Beachy Head, near Eastbourne, East Sussex. This part of the coastline is of national geological interest., and has a high rate of cliff erosion. Coastal erosion has already removed the hotel and some of the row of fishing cottages built in 1878. The Seven Sisters cliffs are nearby !
