©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 10/04/07. Compullage™. From deep in the catacombs of his exclusive fashion boutique “Whatever” comes the Peacock Man. The avenger of the fashion police in his plush Peacockmobile he fights for everyones rights to overdress, walk funny, and drink fancy coffees with Italian names. Having had a traumatic experience with an overzealous hairdresser as a child that changed his life forever. Now he fights for everyones rights to wear tuxedos with thong sandals or a bikini with army boots. One of his many powers is to knock bad dresser unconscious with his cheap perfume spray. Have a good laugh on me. For additional prints and products featuring this design go to www.artwanted.com/sethweaver.
©Seth F.Weaver Sr.1976. Two color linoleum block print. The struggle of the noble farmer and mule versus the blistering heat and the rock hard soil, all this just to survive. From my “Roots” print series.
©Seth F. Weaver, Sr. 12/31/07. A watercolor work. I tried to do a caricature of dear Jamie but her RB photo lacked a lot of details. I did this in her style, yet it lacks her spirit and fire. I hope if she sees it, it gives her a laugh. I like many miss her great comments and wonderful loving support. Get Well Fast Jamie! We ALL Need YOU!
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 2000. A Japanese brush/ink drawing.
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 01/30/08. An extreme mixed media work. In this surreal world everything has a faceted look to it, the land, the clouds, the horse, and even the moon. Swirling realities and extreme strangeness pervail. If you’ve got to dream you might as well have Marilyn Monroe in it, always go first class! Thanks for looking Seth.
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 03/19/08. A felt marker drawing with watercolor washes. This scene reminds me of a scene from Dr. Zhivago. A great film from the 1960s.
©Seth F.Weaver Sr.1972. Linoleum block print. This was inspired by the TV mini-series “Roots” and the life and blight of slavery in the South. I have always liked this print it has a “The Gleaner” feel and look to it. This will probably not be popular with everyone with it’s lack of color, but black and white can be colorful too! Seth
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 06/24/08. A DigyMix™ work. Romantic Prague bathed in lights as the city smolders with politicians, partygoers, criminals, students, and emotions. Sidewalk bistros serve more than beer and wine they serve escape from petty lives that might seem valueless to some but to others are quite precious, all celebrating under a rich starry European night sky. Thanks for looking, Seth
©Seth F.Weaver, Sr. 09/20/08. A Compullage™ work about the legend of the daughter of the Great Spirit that wanders the mountains, valleys, and lakes. Spreading her cool breezes to blow away the sadness she finds or her torrential winds to destroy the evil that her people sow. Her people know she walks among them cause they can feel her gentle kisses on their cheeks. They can also feel her at their backs pushing them to do things that they either don’t want to or are afraid to attempt. She’s always there silent or blustery, mild or torrential. Thanks for looking, Seth.
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 10/19/08. A Compullage™ work. This work was inspired by beautiful ladies and diamonds. Beautiful sparkling diamonds that catch and play with the light, teasing and taunting the onlooker with their brilliance and colors. Lovely ladies are diamonds of a kind as they catch and play with the light, teasing and taunting their onlookers. Both are priceless and should be handled with care. Thanks for looking, Seth.
©Seth F. Weaver, Sr. 10/17/08. A Compullage™ of rare precious gems and oriental rugs. I loved the way the faceted stones and the exotic pattern sort of lended themselves to each other. Creating unique depth, colors, and reflections. Looks like what you’d find in Marco Polo’s luggage. Thanks for looking, Seth.
©Seth F.Weaver, Sr. 01/31/09. A Compullage™ about a lady so obsessed with gorgeous gems and diamonds that she slowly evolves into one herself. All covered with glittering facets that make the light dance and sing.
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 1974-2009. Acrylic on textured wallpaper then a DigiMix™. I was trying with this old painting of mine for an Old Masters feel and look. It seems that it has taken me 35 years to get this work right.
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 05/28/96. A mixed media design I did for the Home Furnishings market while I was a freelance artist/designer. This was done with a Pentel pen, markers, and washes. I thought that this old work fit the Easter season real well. It always reminds me of Beatrix Potter’s Peter Cottontail stories. Thanks for looking Seth.
©Seth F. Weaver,Sr. 04/30/09. This work was inspired by the beauty of Catherine Denueve. A visual blending of reality and imagination. A watercolor sketch enhanced with collage art and Photoshop® embellishments. My idea was to make reality appear as imagination and art to appear as reality. A DigyMix™ work.
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 05/21/09. A bitter woman consumed with rage over some wrong she feels she had endured. As the rage grows it consumes her life and soon her very existence. Leaving her alone and abandoned from within with anger for all that might assume to try and take the “nothing” that she has left. Alone and friendless from her isolation, she wonders why no one likes her, it is she that doesn’t like herself. A Digymix™ work.
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 06/02/09. A blending of two classic movie clips one from the Beatles in “A Hard Days Night” and the other featuring Paul Newman and Robert Redford in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.” When I was going through my morgue I was struck by how the figures in both picture shared similar movement. / A Compullage™ work. The third work in my GRID series.
©Seth F. Weaver,Sr. 06/28/09. A strange moment in the hot summer months when all the Monarch butterflies swarm. A young lady enraptured with their brilliant color and the humming of heir wings get’s too close to the lovely butterflies and her essence becomes their essence and they both become as one. Compullage™ creation.
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 07/01/09. A abstract/surreal image of the high price that some pay to keep their beauty and youth. Drugs, surgery, and cosmetics only slow the inevitable march of time because true beauty shines from the soul, spirit, and personality. The glorious spell of a genuine smile. This work reminds me of an Old Masters work in its colors and composition. A Compullage™ work.
©Seth F.Weaver Sr.June-1993, Acrylic on 16”x20” stretched canvas. A rather plentiful still life that I recently found in my collection. I feel that the colors are rich and I hope you enjoy looking . Thanks everyone for looking at my work. Seth
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr.08/06/06. I painted this for my daughter, Emily, who is a writer. She wanted something to inspire her. So I filled it with Little People, ogres, elves, and even the Loch Ness / Monster. I hope you like it too. Thanks for lending / an eye to my work. Seth
©Seth F. Weaver,Sr. 09/03/09. Acrylic on stretched canvas. This is a homage to that musical “Singin’ in the Rain.” Painted for my youngest daughter Amanda, she’s a great fan of this musical. When she was little my wife and I loved to watch her dance and sing along to this musical and she knew all the words and the dance moves. We always enjoyed her more than the movie.
©Seth F. Weaver, Sr. 09/23/09.Inspired by Marilyn Monroe, the Mona Lisa, and the work of Leonardo. I borrowed an old picture from a pal of mine, Leonardo Da Vinci. I told him I was going to upgrade it, deface it, and make it more 21st century. He told me to go ahead and he didn’t seem to be one bit worried as to what I might do to his masterpiece, since everyone involved with the original was DEAD. Don’t worry about the fact that it hangs in the Louvre, it’s just France and it may be a century before the French notice it, Leo said. When I STEAL, I STEAL from the BEST! A Compullage™ creation.
