I’ve been on a mission to conquer the abstract-a true measure of an artist, I think, as there is no ‘reality’ to compare it too, no likeness to draw close to. Just you. You decide to continue, or when to stop. When to use the ‘f’ word-as we used to tease our sculpture teacher>there is no such thing as ‘finished’. I think there is. the energy passes-it’s time-if you go over, it become overworked and pushed, forced. And therein lies the art.

Famous and loved by the locals.. I always go for a visit when I am in Old San Juan , Puerto Rico . this place is famous for only men attending yu :) woooooo hoo!.. AND for the mallorcas.. and a mallorca is simply puertto rican bread grilled .. while hot , they squish it and sprinkle powdered sugar on it.. and serve with fresh butter….. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. A Puerto Rican Sunday morning institution, La Bombonera offers huge mallorcas and other baked items. It’s a well-kept secret, however is its ability to prepare excellent meals consistently. La Bombonera attracts huge crowds on weekends. Be sure to try the Puerto Rican coffee. Housed in an historical building, this operation’s colonial décor provides for great atmosphere and a chance to mix and mingle with the locals.

I went by the airport today on my way home thinking I’d take a few pictures of some planes. I found this baby scissor-tailed flycatcher on the ground instead. His mother was bringing bugs as she could catch them (which wasn’t very often) to feed him. I had to stand in the heat a long time to get this picture, but it was well worth it. In the not too distant future, we may have beings who are not born as we are. They may be those born of science from birthing vats. How will those beings be treated by humankind? As slaves or as objects to be owned and treated as pleased? Will these beings have feelings as we do? Or will they be simply a machine? Will this type of machine have beliefs? Something to think about. :o) Created in Apophysis 7X. Postwork in Photoshop to create composite image. The face is from a photo I took and combined with the fractal image by turning the head of a statue and transforming/warping to get the perspective I needed. Seattle, Washington Alki Point in West Seattle My brother, Dave and I were in West Seattle and stopped for fish and chips. The Seagulls made themselves quite available to join us for dinner. We forgot all about eating and they were so entertaining. So gentle as they took french fries right out of his fingers, we were nearly tempted to go back for more food.
