And amongst all the wonders of the world we have the children of the Techno Tree, the strange floating creatures that gently roam around the lights, emitting unique melodies, singing in unison an eternal song of calming rhythm. I redid the sunlight and remodelled the flying creatures from the previous Techno Tree render, also increased the resolution and added a needed turbosmooth modifier for more fluff and coolness.
Ok, third of the series. As you can see, sometimes the servants of the Techno Tree get lost in strange states of reality or disappear in another dimension. Hopefully they are lucky enough to be able to cast their own portals to get back. The weirder this gets, the better! Again, work done in a mix of 3dStudio MAX 9.0 and Photoshop CS2.
Her Orders… “These men have failed me, remove them at once!” the queen motioned / “Yes my lady” the demon replied It seems our Queen was not fully pleasured and she dismisses her servants as if they were mere mortals. Perhaps these servants will return with a vengeance to punish the Queen for her unjustified disposal. / . / . / . / Did you order this CARD today? There are many ways to describe our unique inner demons. Some are servants, while others demand to be served. What is your inner demon? Are you familiar with it? Do you serve it, or does it serve you? I thought this would be a nice card to illustrate the old cliche, “A woman’s work is never done,” and to honor women everywhere who work hard at home, on the job, within the family circle, in the community, in the church, in public service. This energetic little Eastern bluebird female exemplifies an honorable work ethic in her diligence at nest-building. (Note the bedraggled look of poor little Mama’s feathers; temperatures were in the 90s and she was really feeling the heat and humidity! Just about the same concept as a housewife sweating over the stove or the ironing board!)
Window reflection. I used for the photo my analog camera and a different film, which one gives the photo a night effect.

T.D. Ruley©2008 This is some whacked out stuff from a dream I had the other night. If you can make sense of it, tell me what you think it means…I’d like to hear people’s thoughts on this one…why are there women statues and why are the dead bowing before them? where the hell are they anyway? perhaps Limbo?
Oils on canvas (40×40cm) (original sold) Painting depicts an Irish servant girl making butter in her rich master’s kitchen. (County Antrim, Northern Ireland) – possibly early 1900’s Update 21 February 2009 Finished…... at last! This painting took a long time, inbetween all the others I am working on. Even my darling dog found a place here. So, this is how it all began two years ago: ================================== All my other paintings are drying out so I decided to work on this one. I did the drawing about two years ago and even painted the first wash but never got around to doing anything else. So, at last my Irish servant girl is being painted! I had a very old, very blurry photo to work from. Maybe that is why I left it for so long. As you can see, it is not very easy to exactly what is in the photograph. But, supposedly, it is of an Irish servant working away at making butter in her rich master’s house. Probably late 1800’s. I will update as I go along! Update / Well, now my imagination has really gone haywire!!! Thanks to the blurry photo which I no longer want to use, I decided to do ‘my own thing’ and create items which I have always wanted to put in a painting but never knew when!! Last night, as I was painting away just before midnight, my doggy sat watching me, impatient as usual, and he was so cute that he ended up in the painting too!! I spent some time researching old kitchens of the Victorian era so in went the old cast iron wood burning stove, the copper pots and utensils and the cupboard in the passage. I changed the doorway (smaller), added a flagstone floor, etc. So far, I am still only working on the left side of the painting and having so much fun thinking about all kinds of stuff that will be going into this old kitchen!! Oils are so lovely to work with… you can change the entire look with a few strokes of the brush or the rub of a finger! Hope you like it so far!! Update 1 October What I love about the old Dutch Masters is how no detail was left out. The details and clutter of everyday life makes me see new things every time I see an old Dutch painting. Not that I am comparing my work to the Masters, but it sure is lots of fun to find objects in my house to include in this painting.

I don’t think the great Carmelite saint, John of the Cross, was urging us to shut up about our sorrows in this quote; rather, I believe he was reminding us that in the midst of our anguish there is more comfort from the silent Suffering Servant who feels our pain and embraces us within His own than in all the words of frustration, complaint, or explanation we might try to express.

Meet my lovely & bright-eyed daughter Lacey! She is so very helpful in our lives in so many ways. She helps in the kitchen, with laundry, she is Mommy’s make-up artist & she even cuts my hair! She is every bit of 12 plus maturity! She’s feisty & still somehow a real sweetheart. I am so blessed to have her in my life! Everybody in our family is equally blessed just to know her, Miss Lacey!
